Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a communication method and a communication apparatus. The communication method includes: A first network element sends at least one piece of check content to a second network element, where the check content indicates an abnormal event that causes a fault of a second network; and the first network element receives at least one check result from the second network element, where the check result indicates whether the abnormal event occurs in the second network. In this way, the first network element can obtain the check result detected by the second network element based on the check content, to determine a fault root cause. This implements cross-operator fault diagnosis, and improves a fault diagnosis capability and an intent achievement rate.

Abstract: A method includes: receiving protocol event data from a plurality of probes within the telecommunication system; determining a most probable cause of a call event from the protocol event data; applying the most probable cause to a trained machine learning algorithm that includes the most probable cause as its input and a telecommunication system score as its output; and in response to an output score from the trained machine learning algorithm, performing a corrective action for a plurality of network users that are expected to be affected by the most probable cause.

Based on analysis of the overall status of performance of the cloud platform, execution of causal engine logic to identify an issue at the cloud platform can be performed, and a notification for the issue can be provided.
