Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a source base station (BS), an indication that the UE is to perform a conditional handover from the source BS to a target BS and is to perform at least one of: a two protocol stack handover from the source BS to the target BS or a dual connectivity handover from the source BS to the target BS. The UE may perform the conditional handover and at least one of the two protocol stack handover or the dual connectivity handover based at least in part on the indication. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine a UE capability for available radio access technologies. The UE may determine which of the available radio access technologies are suitable for idle cell reselection (e.g., inter-radio access technology idle cell reselection, intra-radio access technology idle cell reselection) according to the UE capabilities, which may be related to a UE category or UE usage mode (e.g., voice centric mode, data centric mode) of the UE, etc. The UE may transmit a signal indicating the UE capabilities to a network entity (e.g., a serving cell). The network entity may receive the signaling and determine suitable radio access technologies for the idle cell reselection, and transmit a set of parameters in a message for the UE to use as part of the idle cell reselection.

Abstract: Protected configuration data may be sent to user equipment subscribed to a first wireless communication network by a second wireless communication network with which the user equipment is registered. The first wireless communication network may protect the configuration data based on at least one first key when sending the data to the second wireless communication network. The second wireless communication network may send the configuration data to user equipment in messages protected by at least one second key. User equipment receives the message from the second wireless communication network, extracts the configuration data using the at least one second key, determines whether the configuration data has been altered at least in part based on the at least one first key, and applies the configuration data if the configuration data has not been altered. The protected configuration data may be sent in an information element of a control plane message.

Abstract: An apparatus for wireless communication includes a memory and a processor coupled to the memory. The processor is configured to send a data session establishment request to establish a data session with a network device using a wireless communication network. The data session establishment request has a first field to indicate a requested network slice for the data session. The processor is further to receive an indication of a granted network slice for the data session and to receive an indication of a back-off timer value from the network device. The processor is further configured, after expiration of a back-off timer based on the back-off timer value, to send a first message associated with the granted network slice and to send a second message having a second field corresponding to the first field of the data session establishment request.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine a capability of the UE relating to a carrier configuration of the UE, wherein the carrier configuration relates to carriers of at least two different numerologies; and transmit information identifying the capability, wherein the information identifying the capability identifies a bandwidth or number of carriers that is supported for carriers of a first numerology and one or more scaling values associated with one or more numerologies other than the first numerology. A base station may receive information identifying a capability of a UE relating to a carrier configuration of the UE, wherein the carrier configuration relates to carriers of at least two different numerologies; and determine a configuration for communication with the UE based at least in part on the information identifying the capability. Abstract: In aspects of the disclosure, a method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. In one aspect, the apparatus determines if a connection to a PLMN has been established. In another aspect, the apparatus builds a FQDN based on the determination by attempting to build the FQDN using each of the prioritized FQDNs in order of priority until the FQDN is built, building the FQDN using a PLMN ID of the PLMN if it is determined that the PLMN is found in the list, or building the FQDN based on the wildcard PLMN if it is determined that the list comprises the wildcard PLMN. Further still, the apparatus selects an ePDG based on the FQDN.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for facilitating dynamic measurement power offset adjustments for use in reporting channel quality feedback. A user equipment may generate and send a plurality of channel quality indicator (CQI) values to a base station. The base station determines whether at least some of the received CQI values are outside of an upper or lower threshold value. If at least some of the received CQI values are outside the upper or lower threshold value, the base station can transmit an adjusted measurement power offset to the user equipment. On receipt of the adjusted measurement power offset, the user equipment generates subsequent CQI values using the adjusted measurement power offset.

Abstract: Handover parameter settings are automatically adapted in access points in a system to improve handover performance. Reactive detection techniques are employed for identifying different types of handover-related failures and adapting handover parameters based on this detection. Messaging schemes are also employed for providing handover-related information to access points. Proactive detection techniques also may be used for identifying conditions that may lead to handover-related failures and then adapting handover parameters in an attempt to prevent such handover-related failures. Ping-ponging may be mitigated by adapting handover parameters based on analysis of access terminal visited cell history acquired by access points in the system. In addition, configurable parameters (e.g., timer values) may be used to detect handover-related failures.
