    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A method may include receiving a control transmission from a base station, identifying a control channel search space organized according to a nested structure, the control channel search space including a plurality of control channel candidates associated with one or more control channel elements (CCEs) and an aggregation level, and searching the received control transmission to identify a control channel for the UE using the plurality of control channel candidates. Another method may include determining whether to reorder resource element group (REG) indices for a received control channel transmission based, at least in part, on a transmission mode associated with the control channel transmission. Another method may include decoding a received control channel transmission, where the downlink control information (DCI) formats may be constrained to an integer multiple of a predetermined base number of bits N.

    Abstract: A method at a scheduling entity might include determining that interference is present from a neighboring scheduling entity, which implements a second subcarrier spacing that is different from a first subcarrier spacing of the scheduling entity. The scheduling entity might request the neighboring scheduling entity to negotiate a bandwidth group (BWG), where the BWG is a bandwidth occupied by downlink subcarriers within which a transmission parameter is maintained. The method might include negotiating a bandwidth of the bandwidth group and transmitting, if negotiating is successful, downlink data to a scheduled entity served by the scheduling entity according to the negotiated bandwidth. The transmission parameter might be a precoder, rank, modulation order, power inside each BWG, or numerology. The numerology might be scalable and might be a combination of subcarrier spacing and cyclic prefix (CP) overhead, The subcarrier spacing might be scaled while keeping constant the CP overhead as a percentage of a symbol duration.

    Abstract: Systems and techniques are disclosed to enhance the efficiency of available bandwidth between UEs and base stations. A UE transmits a sounding reference signal (SRS) to the base station. The base station characterizes the uplink channel based on the SRS received and, using reciprocity, applies the channel characterization for the downlink channel. As part of applying the channel information, the base station forms the beam to the UE based on the uplink channel information obtained from the SRS. The UE may include an array of antennas, each UE transmitting a different SRS that the base station receives and uses to characterize the downlink. Multiple UEs (or a single UE with multiple antennas) transmit SRS at the same time and frequency allocation (non-orthogonal), but with each sending its own unique SRS. Further, multiple UEs (or a single UE with multiple antennas) may send their SRS at unique time/frequency allocations (orthogonal).

    Abstract: An apparatus may receive, from a scheduling entity, sidelink grant information in a downlink control channel. After receiving the grant information in the downlink control channel, the apparatus may transmit a request-to-send (RTS) signal comprising an indication of a requested duration of time to reserve a sidelink channel for sidelink data. If the sidelink channel is available for the requested duration of time, the apparatus may receive a clear-to-send (CTS) signal configured to indicate an availability of the sidelink channel for the requested duration of time. Subsequently, the apparatus may communicate, with another apparatus different from the scheduling entity, the sidelink data using the sidelink channel during the requested duration of time. Afterwards, the apparatus may communicate acknowledgment information corresponding to the communication of the sidelink signal with the other apparatus. Various additional and alternative aspects are described herein.
