    摘要: The invention describes the production and utilization of a multi-layer composite material, a polyester resin and/or vinyl-ester resin based adhesive with special composition, applied on the surface or between the layer of the enforced object, which is made of unsaturated polyester resin and/or vinyl-ester resin based, glass-fiber reinforced, pre-made band shaped prepreg material, which can be used on surface of cylindrically symmetric objects like piers, pipes, pillars, etc. to strengthen their stability, endurance and resistance. This material can also be used to repair certain small irregularities on the enforced objects surface. The prepreg band and adhesive can be prepared, used and hardened where the enforced objects are, and while the objects are fully operating, even if the temperature is relatively cold at about 0° C. The opportune choice of initiators and the substances added to the prepreg's matrix material: poly-ε-caprolacton; the acetyl-acetone and alkyl-(acrylate)-methacrylate type monomers added to the adhesive result in the networking of the resins. The peroxides decompose due to the activator compounds coming from diffusion on the surface of the adhesive substance. This process ensures the complete hardening of the composite band on the whole surface it is applied and the homogeneity of the assumption of load.

    摘要: A duct reinforcement and a method for building the reinforcement including a special tool for use in a preferred method are disclosed. The duct reinforcement includes a support washer on each of two opposing sides of the duct to be supported and a stiff wire extending through the sides of the ducts and both washers. The portion of the wire protruding beyond each support washer on the outside of the duct forms a hook with a tip of the wire substantially opposed to the outer face of the respective support washer. A preferred form of the support washer forms a volcano-shaped contour surrounding the washer hole on the outer face so that the tip of the wire makes contact with the washer inside the crest of the volcano-shaped contour. A preferred arrangement includes a rubbery seal between each support washer and the respective side of the duct to prevent leakage from the duct.

    摘要: A riser section includes two filament-reinforced tubulars and a coupling sleeve for connecting the two filament-reinforced tubulars. The coupling sleeve includes a screw thread at opposite ends for cooperating with a screw thread provided on sections of the filament-reinforced tubulars. The riser section includes two torque locks, wherein the torque locks are each mounted on one of the filament-reinforced tubulars, and are on opposite ends of the coupling sleeve. The torque locks are provided with coupling teeth extending in an axial direction. The coupling sleeve is at opposite ends provided with coupling teeth extending in the axial direction. When the tubulars are screwed into the coupling sleeve and the torque locks have been mounted to secure the rotational movement of the tubulars relative to the coupling sleeve, the coupling teeth of each of the torque locks engages the coupling teeth of the coupling sleeve such that they block rotation of the torque lock relative to the coupling sleeve and allow for movement of the torque lock relative to the coupling sleeve in the axial direction, and thus allow for elongation of the sections of the tubulars including the screw thread. The pitch of the screw thread of the tubulars increases in a direction away from the end of the tubular, and the pitch of the screw threads of the coupling sleeve increases in a direction towards the end of the coupling sleeve.

    摘要: Provided is a pool and/or spa cover leading edge that provides for minimal deflection across the width of the pool and/or spa, and in particular from 0 to less than or equal to 0.10 inches per 10 feet of width of the pool and/or spa. The pool and/or spa cover leading edge includes at least one fiber reinforced polymer composite with an axial length of from 5 feet to 50 feet with a linear weight per foot from 4 to 14 ounces per foot of axial length and an optional joiner for coupling together two or more composites. The composite includes at least one of continuous fibers or discontinuous fibers oriented at least partially in the axial direction and encapsulated by a thermoset or thermoplastic resin matrix. Also provided are pool and/or spa cover system and a method of reducing the deflection of a leading edge for a pool and/or spa cover.
