    摘要: An apparatus for transferring torque comprising a pipe handling assembly configured to use fluid pressure to provide torque forces to set or release slips from a pipe. Set down force or other frictional measures on a pipe collar are not required. A method to create reactive torque force comprising a series of gears interconnected with each other through a clutch that can be engaged and disengaged. A link may be provided to a top drive rail via a gripperbox which provides reactive force to stop rotation of a power screw female (threaded nut) to facilitate threading action to set or release slips on pipe. Reactive force may be created using a plurality of axial pistons attached to a moveable half of a hirth coupling. Other friction-creating members (such as, for example, a brake pad material or similar material) may be used to create frictional forces between two surfaces.

The rotatable member may be operatively connected with the latching member such that rotation of the rotatable member with respect to the latching member causes relative axial movement between the latching member and the rotatable member thereby forcing the first connector and the second connector toward each other to compress the line therebetween to therefore connect the connector assembly to the line.

    摘要: In accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure, an improved anti-rotation device for preventing rotation of two joined tubular members of a connector assembly is provided. The connector assembly includes a first threaded portion connected to a second threaded portion. The anti-rotation device includes at least one self-tapping screw installed in an associated threaded bore formed in and tangential to a flange of the second threaded portion. When installed, the at least one self-tapping screw engages a shoulder of the first threaded portion. A partial thread is formed in the shoulder of the first threaded portion by the at least one self-tapping screw, which forms a shear-resistive force that prevents rotation of the first threaded portion relative to the second threaded portion, and thus prevents rotation of one tubular member relative to the other.

    摘要: A tubular member connection system includes a box having an inner diameter surface and internal box threads. A pin has an outer diameter surface and external pin threads, the pin threads shaped to mate with the box threads to releasably secure the pin to the box so that the pin and the box are aligned along a common central axis. A slot is located in one of the inner diameter surface and the outer diameter surface, the slot having a pair of sidewalls. An anti-rotation profile is located in the other of the inner diameter surface and the outer diameter surface. A key is sized to fit within the slot and have a key profile shaped to engage the anti-rotation profile and prevent relative rotational movement between the box and the pin.

    摘要: Fluid flow between screen-pipe annuli of pipe sections in a down-hole well structure is provided by a fluid communication sleeve assembly that may be installed where adjacent pipe sections are connected. A flow ring is provided at each pipe section end, each flow ring providing fluid communication from and to an annulus between a screen and a corresponding base pipe. The fluid communication sleeve assembly includes a screen shield spaced from the adjoining pipes and the pipe joint, the screen shield connected to a flow ring at each screen shield end, and a lock nut at each screen shield end, the lock nut retaining a screen shield end to a corresponding flow ring. A method for providing fluid flow between screen-pipe annuli of pipe is also provided.

    摘要: A system and method for locking together a running tool and a tubular member to rotate the tubular member. The system includes a tubular member and a running tool adapted to engage in a mechanical connection such that the running tool and the tubular member are arranged concentrically and moveable longitudinally together. The system includes a locking assembly adapted to lock the tubular member and the running tool together once the tubular member and the running tool are engaged in the mechanical connection, so that torque applied to the running tool is applied to the tubular member through the locking assembly to rotate the running tool and the tubular member synchronously. The locking assembly is adapted to unlock the tubular member and the running tool when the tubular member is landed on a shoulder of an outer tubular member so that the mechanical connection can then be disengaged.
