Abstract: A downhole sensor apparatus may include a structure securing a circuit board. The structure may be configured to be inserted into a recess in a tool on a drill string. The downhole sensor apparatus may include one or more sensors coupled to the circuit board and a cap over the structure. The downhole sensor apparatus may further include a data port electrically coupled to the circuit board and configured to transmit data from the sensors to an external device. The downhole sensor apparatus may include a threaded element configured to thread into complementary threads in the recess in the tool. The downhole sensor apparatus may be configured to operate in an idle condition. The downhole sensor apparatus may compare readings from at least two sensors to threshold downhole conditions and begin normal operation when the readings from the at least two sensors meet or exceed the threshold downhole conditions.

Abstract: Provided is a gauge mandrel, a sensing system, and a well system. Abstract: An untethered downhole tool includes a first body, a second body, a logging sensor, a motor, and a controller. Each of the first and second bodies includes a housing that defines an inner volume and a magnetic anchor configured, in an active state, to attach the body to a wellbore tubular. The motor is attached to one of the first or second bodies and coupled to a spooler. The controller is communicably coupled to the motor and the first and second magnetic anchors. The controller is configured to adjust one of the first or second magnetic anchors from the active state to an inactive state; and activate the motor to operate the spooler to spool the cable from the spooler to increase a length of a portion of the cable between the spooler and the detached first or second body.

Abstract: A technique facilitates collecting data, related to a fracturing, run-in-hole, or pull-out-of hole operation. A frac plug is provided with electronics for obtaining the desired information related to the operation. For example, the frac plug may be constructed with electronic sensors, a digital storage device, and a power supply or other power related equipment. Depending on the application, the frac plug may be a composite frac plug, degradable frac plug, dummy frac plug, or other suitable frac plug. Retrieval of the information obtained may be done via coupling with an associated device, e.g. inductive or physical coupling, by utilizing a broadcast transmitter/receiver, by physical retrieval of the storage device, or by physical retrieval of the dummy frac plug.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlled charging of blasting boreholes with a flowable/pourable explosive, in particular in open-cast mining, includes: providing a radar head with at least one radar unit operated in a non-rock penetrating frequency range; arranging the radar head on a pulling element; introducing the radar head into the borehole in that the radar head is lowered into the blasting borehole in an arrangement at the pulling means from an upper aperture opening of the blasting borehole; and detecting at least one measurement value comprising a base distance of the radar head from the blasting borehole base and/or a charge level distance to determine the charge level of the explosive in the blasting borehole; and/or comprising the shape of the jacket section over at least a portion of the depth of the blasting borehole by means of the operation of at least one of the radar units.
