Abstract: The disclosure describes example of performing an inverse dynamic range adjustment (DRA) to a picture as part of outputting the picture from memory. A device for decoding video data includes a memory configured to store a picture in a DRA domain and a processor configured to determine that the picture in the dynamic range adjustment (DRA) domain stored in the memory is to be output from the memory, subsequent to determining that the picture in the DRA domain is to be output, perform a process of outputting the picture in the DRA domain, and at the process of outputting the picture in the DRA domain from the memory, apply inverse DRA to the picture.

Abstract: A method of coding video data includes upsampling at least a portion of a reference layer picture to an upsampled picture having an upsampled picture size. The upsampled picture size has a horizontal upsampled picture size and a vertical upsampled picture size. At least one of the horizontal or vertical upsampled picture sizes may be different than a horizontal picture size or vertical picture size, respectively, of an enhancement layer picture. In addition, position information associated with the upsampled picture may be signaled. An inter-layer reference picture may be generated based on the upsampled picture and the position information.

Abstract: An apparatus for coding video information according to certain aspects includes a memory unit configured to store video information associated with a plurality of layers and a processor. The processor is configured to obtain information associated with a current access unit (AU) to be coded, the current AU containing pictures from one or more layers of the plurality of layers. The processor is further configured to determine whether the current AU includes a first layer containing an intra random access point (IRAP) picture. The process is additionally configured to reset a picture order count (POC) of the second layer at the current AU, in response to determining that the current AU includes (1) a first layer that contains an IRAP picture and (2) a second layer containing no picture or containing a discardable picture.

For example, a method of encoding video data includes generating an encoded video bitstream comprising multiple layers. The encoded video bitstream includes a video parameter set defining parameters of the encoded video bitstream. The video parameter set includes video usability information. The method further includes determining whether timing information is signaled in the video usability information of the video parameter set. The method further includes determining whether to signal hypothetical reference decoder parameters in the video usability information of the video parameter set based on whether timing information is signaled in the video usability information.

Abstract: Bitstream restrictions or constraints on the partitioning of pictures across layers of video data are described. In some examples, the number of tiles per picture for each layer of a plurality of layers is constrained based on a maximum number of tiles per picture for the layer. In some examples, the number of tiles per picture for each layer of the plurality of layers is no greater than the maximum number of tiles per picture for the layer. In some examples, a sum of the numbers of tiles per picture for the plurality of layers is no greater than a sum of the maximum numbers of tiles per picture for the plurality of layers. In some examples, a second largest coding unit (LCU) or coding tree block (CTB) size for a second layer is constrained based on, e.g., to be equal to, a first LCU size for a first layer.

Abstract: In general, this disclosure describes techniques for communicating preferred color gamut settings from a sink device to a source device. The source device may send, through a video interface, first video data to the sink device, which receives the first video data through the video interface. The sink device may then send, through a feedback channel of the video interface, preferred color gamut settings of the sink device to the source device. The preferred color gamut settings may be for content received from the source device. The source device may adapt second video data using the preferred color gamut settings. The source device may then send, through the video interface, the second video data adapted to the preferred color gamut settings to the sink device.
