摘要: A video coding or decoding method includes using history-based motion vector prediction (HMVP) for conversion between multiple video blocks including a current block of video and a bitstream representation of the multiple video blocks such that for a uni-predicted block that for which a single reference picture is used for motion compensation, refraining from updating a look-up table for HMVP candidates for the uni-predicted block. The video coding or decoding method further includes performing the conversion using look-up tables for the multiple video blocks.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method for encoding/decoding a video. To this end, the method for decoding a video may include: deriving a spatial merge candidate from at least one of spatial candidate blocks of a current block, deriving a temporal merge candidate from a co-located block of the current block, and generating a prediction block of the current block based on at least one of the derived spatial merge candidate and the derived temporal merge candidate, wherein a reference picture for the temporal merge candidate is selected based on a reference picture list of a current picture including the current block and a reference picture list of a co-located picture including the co-located block.

摘要: Methods of enabling and disabling a decoder-side motion vector refinement (DMVR) video decoder and/or encoder are described. One example method includes determining a width (W) and a height (H) of a video block, making a determination, based on a condition of the video block, between enabling and disabling a decoder side motion vector refinement step for a conversion between the video block and a coded representation of the video block, in a case that the determination is enabling, performing the conversion by enabling the decoder side motion vector refinement step; and in a case that the determination is disabling, performing the conversion by disabling the decoder side motion vector refinement step, wherein the decoder side motion vector refinement step includes refining value of a motion vector signaled in the coded representation and using the refined value during the conversion.

摘要: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method and an apparatus for video decoding. The apparatus includes processing circuitry that decodes prediction information indicating bi-prediction with coding unit (CU)-level weights (BCW) for a current block in a current picture. The processing circuitry performs template matching (TM) on BCW candidate weights by determining a respective TM cost corresponding to each BCW candidate weight. Each TM cost is determined based on a portion or all of a current template of the current block and a respective bi-predictor template. The bi-predictor template is based on the respective BCW candidate weight, a portion or all of a first reference template in a first reference picture, and a portion or all of a second reference template in a second reference picture. The processing circuitry reorders the BCW candidate weights based on the respectively determined TM costs.

摘要: Provided is an encoder including circuitry and memory coupled to the circuitry. A prediction mode for a current block is an affine mode, and in operation, the circuitry: derives a base motion vector which is a motion vector to be used in a prediction process for the current block, and is a motion vector at an affine-mode control point in the current block; derives a first motion vector different from the base motion vector; derives a motion vector difference based on a difference between the base motion vector and the first motion vector; determines whether the motion vector difference is greater than a threshold; if so, modifies a second motion vector different from the base motion vector and the first motion vector, and if not, does not modify the second motion vector; and encodes the current block using the second motion vector modified or the second motion vector not modified.

摘要: Methods of selectively applying Bi-directional Optical Flow (BDOF) and Decoder-side Motion Vector Refinement (DMVR) on inter mode coded blocks employed in video coding standards, such as the now-current Versatile Video Coding (VVC) design, are performed at a computing device. In one method, when a current block is eligible for both applications of DMVR and BDOF based on a plurality of pre-defined conditions, the computing device uses a pre-defined criterion to classify the current block and then uses the classification in applying either BDOF or DMVR, but not both, on the block.

摘要: In the related art, in some cases the weighted prediction processing is performed even in a case that normal prediction processing is to be performed. A video decoding apparatus includes a weighted prediction processing unit configured to decode a weight coefficient and an offset value from coded data and to generate a prediction image by multiplying an interpolation image by the weight coefficient and adding the offset value to the interpolation image, and a normal prediction processing unit configured to generate a prediction image from the interpolation image. In a case that in the weighted prediction processing unit, a bi-prediction is performed and information of the weight coefficient and the offset value is absent for both a reference list 0 and a reference list 1, the normal prediction processing unit generates a bi-prediction image.

摘要: An image decoding method performed by a decoding device according to the present invention comprises the steps of: acquiring information on inter prediction of a target block through a bit stream; deriving motion information of the target block on the basis of the information on inter prediction; deriving a prediction sample by performing inter prediction for the target block on the basis of the motion information; generating a reconstruction block on the basis of the prediction sample; deriving modified motion information of the target block on the basis of the reconstruction block; and updating the motion information of the target block on the basis of the modified motion information. According to the present invention, modified motion information of the target block can be calculated, and the motion information of the target block can be updated on the basis of the modified motion information, so that the overall coding efficiency can be improved.
