Abstract: An embodiment of the invention provides a method performed by a mobile communication device in a discontinuous reception (DRX) mode. First, the device dumps contemporarily received data and performs multipath search while a beginning part of a relevant sub-frame in a control channel is being transmitted. Next, the device dumps contemporarily received data and decodes dumped data with an accelerated rake while a middle part of the relevant sub-frame is being transmitted. Then, the device decodes contemporarily received data with a normal rake while an ending part of the relevant sub-frame is being transmitted.

Abstract: A method to perform beam management (BM) and/or synchronization (Sync) with interference cancellation on synchronization signal block (SSB) is proposed. A UE determines interference level and/or pilot contamination level. The UE can then perform BM or Sync, with or without interference cancellation, adapt to the determined interference and pilot contamination level. If interference level is high, UE applies interference cancellation for BM and Sync. If interference level is low, UE does not apply interference cancellation for BM and Sync. If the pilot contamination level is high, then UE follows the 3-symbol mode, e.g., uses only PECH0 SSS, and PBCH2 symbols for BM or Sync. If the pilot contamination level is low, then UE follows the 4-symbol mode, e.g., uses PSS as an extra symbol for BM or Sync to improve system performance.

Abstract: A system includes an accelerator to accelerate the computations of nonlinear math functions. The accelerator includes a set of first evaluators and a set of second evaluators. Each of the first evaluators and the second evaluators is a fixed-function hardware circuit specialized for evaluating a respective nonlinear function. The system further includes a processor which decodes a math instruction in an instruction set, sends to the accelerator a signal identifying a nonlinear function corresponding to the math instruction, and receives an output of the nonlinear function from the accelerator. According to the signal, the accelerator evaluates the nonlinear function using one of the first evaluators. When the signal identifies the nonlinear function as a composite function, the accelerator additionally uses one of second evaluators on an output of the one first evaluator.

Abstract: A processor of an apparatus establishes a wireless communication link with at least one other apparatus via a transceiver of the apparatus. The processor wirelessly communicates with the other apparatus via the wireless communication link by: selecting a first shift-coefficient table from a plurality of shift-coefficient tables; generating a QC-LDPC code using a base matrix and at least a portion of the first shift-coefficient table; selecting a codebook from a plurality of codebooks embedded in the QC-LDPC code; storing the selected codebook in a memory associated with the processor; encoding data using the selected codebook to generate a plurality of modulation symbols of the data; and controlling the transceiver to multiplex, convert, filter, amplify and radiate the modulation symbols as electromagnetic waves through one or more antennas of the apparatus to transmit the modulation symbols of the data to the other apparatus via the wireless communication link.

Abstract: Concepts and schemes pertaining to location of interleaver with low-density parity-check (LDPC) code are described. A processor of an apparatus encodes data to provide a stream of encoded data. The processor also rate matches the encoded data to provide a rate-matched stream of encoded data. The processor further interleaving the rate-matched stream of encoded data. In rate matching the encoded data, the processor buffers the stream of encoded data in a circular buffer, with the circular buffer functioning as a rate matching block that rate matches the stream of encoded data. In interleaving the rate-matched stream of encoded data, the processor performs bit-level interleaving on the rate-matched stream of encoded data to provide a stream of interleaved data.

Abstract: Various solutions for transmission resource allocation with respect to user equipment (UE) and network apparatus in mobile communications are described. A UE may receive control information from a network apparatus. The UE may turn on a radio frequency (RF) transceiver of the UE in a part of a transmission time interval (TTI) to receive downlink data in an event that the control information indicates that the downlink data is scheduled in the TTI. The downlink data is scheduled in a part of the TTI but not in any other time interval. The time duration of the TTI may comprise 14 orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols and the part of the TTI may be configured as a mini-slot with time duration less than 14 OFDM symbols.
