Abstract:
The invention relates to a double metering device for metering a fluid of an internal combustion engine, said metering device comprising a body in which are arranged a first (3) and a second (4) fluid circulation path for said fluid, in which paths first and second mobile shut-off shutters are positioned in order to meter the flow rate of fluid passing along said paths (3, 4), said metering device further comprising a motor that actuates said shutters and a drive train able to actuate the first shutter and/or the second shutter in response to actuation of said motor. According to the invention, the drive train is configured so that over a first operating range (30) it meters the flow rate passing along the first outlet path (3) by actuating the first shutter, the other shutter being held in the open position.

Abstract:
An EGR gas cooling system of the present invention includes a main cooling water circuit which circulates cooling water between an engine, a main radiator that radiates heat of the cooling water of the engine and a primary EGR cooler that cools EGR gas by the cooling water and a low temperature cooling water circuit which circulates the cooling water between the engine, a sub-radiator provided integrally with or separately from the main radiator to radiate heat in the cooling water and a secondary EGR cooler that cools the EGR gas by the cooling water. A flow rate controller which controls a flow rate of the cooling water is provided between the engine and the sub-radiator of the low temperature cooling water circuit.
Abstract:
An exhaust gas recirculation cooler for an internal combustion engine is provided. The exhaust gas recirculation cooler includes an external casing with an inlet and an outlet for an exhaust gas flow. A first tube bundle and a second tube bundle, each with an inlet and an outlet for a coolant, are located inside the external casing so that the exhaust gas flow flows through the first tube bundle and the second tube bundle in series. A bypass passage conveys the exhaust gas flow from downstream the first tube bundle to the outlet of the external casing bypassing the second tube bundle. The bypass passage is located inside the external casing between the first tube bundle and the second tube bundle.
Abstract:
A drive train for a motor vehicle is provided. The drive train includes a heat flow generating drive motor, a steam engine in a steam circuit, and an evaporator. The evaporator has an inlet for liquid working fluid and an outlet for evaporated working fluid. The evaporator also includes an auxiliary outlet, via which a portion of the heated working fluid is guided through the inlet into the first evaporator and is discharged with the heat flow, before the residual working fluid in the evaporator is further evaporated by means of the heat flow.
Abstract:
An arrangement for control of an engine, the arrangement having a super-charger adapted to be disposed between an air intake and an inlet manifold of the engine, the super-charger device being adapted to boost the pressure of the intake air to the engine. The arrangement also has an exhaust gas recirculation, EGR, system, and a super-charger bypass conduit arranged to facilitate a variable bypassing of the super-charger device, the EGR flow level to be controlled such that the effect of the EGR system on the combustion process of the engine can be continuously varied. The arrangement is further adapted to sense a boost pressure level and an inlet temperature level of the inlet air at the inlet manifold of the engine, and to adjust said super-charger bypass and EGR level in order to reach a pre-determined inlet temperature and boost pressure level, thus facilitating control of the combustion process.
Abstract:
A supercharged internal combustion engine is provided. The engine comprises a cylinder, an intake line in an intake system, for supplying charge air to the cylinder, an exhaust line for discharging exhaust gases, an exhaust-gas turbocharger including a turbine arranged in the exhaust line and a compressor arranged in the intake line, an exhaust-gas recirculation arrangement including a recirculation line which branches off from the exhaust line downstream of the turbine and opens into the intake line upstream of the compressor, and a sensor for detecting the concentration Ci,intake of a component i of the charge air in the intake system provided downstream of the opening of the recirculation line into the intake line. In this way, the exhaust-gas recirculation may be regulated based on feedback from the sensor to control emissions.
Abstract:
