摘要: A coupling methodology and circuit arrangements to provide multi-frequency simultaneous power measurement. In one example, a wireless device front-end apparatus includes a plurality of antenna swap switches each connected to first and second antenna contacts, and a plurality of electromagnetic couplers each having an input port to receive a input signal of a unique frequency, a coupled port that provides a coupled signal based on the input signal, an output port connected to one of the plurality of antenna swap switches, and an isolation port. The apparatus further includes a termination network including a plurality of termination loads, and an output switch network configured to selectively connect the coupled port of each electromagnetic coupler to a coupler output bank to provide the coupled signals at the coupler output bank, and to selectively connect the isolation port of each electromagnetic coupler to one of the plurality of termination loads.

摘要: An electromagnetic coupler includes a first transmission line connecting an input port to an output port. A second transmission line adjacent the first transmission line connects a coupled port and an isolation port. The electromagnetic coupler provides a coupled signal at the coupled port, which is representative of an input signal at the input port. The amplitude of the coupled signal is related to the amplitude of the input signal by a coupling factor. A tuning element is provided adjacent to the first or second transmission line and is coupled to an impedance. Varying impedance values cause an adjustment to the coupling factor and reactive impedance values provide frequency filtering effects.

An adjustable termination impedance is connected to the isolation port. A frequency detector is connected to the adjustable termination impedance and to the coupled port, and configured to detect a frequency of the coupled signal and provide an impedance control signal to tune the adjustable termination impedance based on the frequency of the coupled signal.

The coupler is configured to couple signal power from the main transmission line to provide coupled signals at the coupled port, and a filter subsystem is connected to the coupled port to filter the coupled signals. The filter subsystem includes filters configured to pass or reject coupled signals by frequency, and the filter subsystem provides the filtered output signal to a measurement node.

摘要: Disclosed are systems, circuits and methods related to low-loss bypass of a radio-frequency (RF) filter or diplexer. In some embodiments, a switching network circuitry can include a first switch that has an input pole configured to receive a radio-frequency (RF) signal, a pass-through throw configured to be connectable to the input pole to allow routing of the RF signal to an RF component, and at least one dedicated bypass throw configured to be connectable to the input pole and at least one bypass conduction path. The switching network circuitry can further include a second switch that has a pole and a throw, and is connectable between an output of the RF component and the bypass conduction path. Use of the dedicated bypass throw(s) in the first switch allows implementation of low-loss bypass of the filter or diplexer.

摘要: Provided herein are methods of reconfiguring directional couplers in an RF transceiver. The methods can include designing and reconfiguring the directional couplers to provide high directivity and a desired coupling factor using configurable capacitors to effect a mutual coupling and using lumped components or delay lines to effect a phase shift. The reconfigurable directional couplers can be designed for multi-band operation with an adjustable coupling factor conducive to semiconductor process integration. The reconfigurable directional couplers can have variable phase shifters to achieve a desired level of directivity in the coupler. In various examples, the methods include monitoring the frequency of power signals received by the reconfigurable directional couplers, and adjusting the configurable capacitors and/or variable phase shifters to maintain desired directivity and coupling factors over multi-band operation of the reconfigurable directional couplers.

The wireless device further includes a wireless switching component including a radio-frequency switch configured to selectively connect the antenna to one of the transmission paths, a plurality of signal pins, a serial interface including a plurality of serial inputs electrically coupled to at least one pin of the plurality of signal pins, a parallel interface including a plurality of parallel inputs electrically coupled to at least one pin of the plurality of signal pins, a decoder, and a level shifter configured to control the radio-frequency switch, the at least one pin electrically coupled to both a serial input and a parallel input.
