Abstract: A current detection device for measuring current flowing through a conductor having a magnetic core having a channel for receiving the conductor therethrough, and a magnetic field transducer positioned at least partially within an air gap of the magnetic core. The magnetic field transducer is configured to respond to the presence of a magnetic field by generating an output electrical signal based on a flux density of the magnetic field. The magnetic core comprises an absolute saturation flux density that is substantially lower than an absolute saturation flux density of the magnetic field transducer. Accordingly, a response of the current detection device within the magnetic flux density operating range varies in sensitivity and is substantially non-linear. The response of the current detection device is preconfigured. The current detection device may be implemented in devices and systems where a substantially wide sensing range and relatively high, low-current sensitivity is desired.

Abstract: A circuit breaker comprises a solid-state bidirectional switch, a switch control circuit, current and voltage sensors, and a processor. The solid-state bidirectional switch is connected between a line input terminal and a load output terminal of the circuit breaker, and configured to be placed in a switched-on state and a switched-off state. The switch control circuit control operation of the bidirectional switch. The current sensor is configured to sense a magnitude of current flowing in an electrical path between the line input and load output terminals and generate a current sense signal. The voltage sensor is configured to sense a magnitude of voltage on the electrical path and generate a voltage sense signal. The processor is configured to process the current and voltage sense signals to determine operational status information of the circuit breaker, a fault event, and power usage information of a load connected to the load output terminal.

By temporarily open circuiting some of the Ethernet cable twisted pairs a drop in transmission speed can be detected for an active network component. Abstract: A current sensor includes a plurality of individual sensors and a wiring case. Each of the individual sensors includes an electrical-conduction member through which a measurement current to be measured flows, a magnetoelectric converter and an insulating sensor housing. The magnetoelectric converter converts a measurement magnetic field caused by a flow of the measurement current into an electric signal. The sensor housing accommodates the electrical-conduction member and the magnetoelectric converter therein. The wiring case is larger than the sensor housing. The wiring case includes an insulating integrated housing in which the plurality of individual sensors is fixed, and an input/output wiring disposed in the integrated housing and electrically connected to the megnetoelectric converter of each of the plurality of individual sensors.
