摘要: The Cu- and Ti-containing composition of the present invention contains titanium oxide having a rutile-type titanium oxide content of 15 mol % or more, and at least one divalent copper compound represented by the following formula (1). The Cu- and Ti-containing composition production method of the present invention is characterized by including stirring a mixture containing titanium oxide having a rutile-type titanium oxide content of 15 mol % or more, a divalent copper compound raw material represented by formula (2), water, and an alkaline compound, to thereby cause precipitation. The composition of the present invention exhibits excellent anti-viral property under light and in the dark, and excellent organic compound decomposition activity under light.

摘要: Processes for the purification of bio-based acrylic acid to crude and glacial acrylic acid are provided. The bio-based acrylic acid is produced from hydroxypropionic acid, hydroxypropionic acid derivatives, or mixtures thereof. The purification includes some or all of the following processes: extraction, drying, distillation, and melt crystallization. The produced glacial or crude acrylic acid contains hydroxypropionic, hydroxypropionic acid derivatives, or mixtures thereof as an impurity.

摘要: Disclosed herein is the catalytic dehydration of lactic acid to acrylic acid, which is characterized by a high conversion of lactic acid, a high selectivity for acrylic acid, a high yield of acrylic acid, and correspondingly low selectivity and molar yields for undesired by-products. This is achieved with a particular class of catalysts defined by a mixture of metal-containing phosphate salts that together provide the catalyst with a very high basicity density and low acidity density. Further, the catalyst is believed to be stable and active for lengthy periods heretofore unseen in the art for such dehydration processes.

摘要: A method for the preparation of a supported metal nitrate, suitable as a precursor for a catalyst or sorbent, includes the steps of: (i) impregnating a support material with a metal nitrate, (ii) optionally drying the impregnated material at low temperature, and (iii) exposing the impregnated material to a gas mixture comprising nitric oxide at a temperature in the range 0-150° C., to form a dispersed supported metal nitrate. The metal nitrate may subsequently be converted to the corresponding oxide by calcining the metal nitrate to effect its decomposition. Preferred metals are iron, ruthenium, cobalt, rhodium, iridium, nickel, palladium, platinum, copper or a mixture thereof.
