Abstract: A portable apparatus includes an image capturing device, a display device, an indoor image acquisition unit, an apparatus position acquisition unit, an apparatus information acquisition unit, and a display control unit. The indoor image acquisition unit acquires an indoor image of a building having a plurality of floors. The apparatus position acquisition unit acquires a position of an electronic apparatus in real space. The apparatus information acquisition unit acquires apparatus information on the electronic apparatus. The display control unit causes the display device to display a composite image formed by combining additional information based on the apparatus information with a to-be-combined image, while linking the additional information to a position of the electronic apparatus in the to-be-combined image, this position corresponding to a relationship between the position of the electronic apparatus in real space and a position of the portable apparatus in real space.

Abstract: An image forming system includes a plurality of image forming devices and a server device. The plurality of image forming devices and the server device are connected to one another via a network. The server device includes a position information history management unit configured to receive the position information of a wearable device through an image forming device performing short-range wireless communication with the wearable device and to manage a history of the position information of the wearable device and an image data generating unit configured to generate image data according to a history of the position information of the wearable device, and transmits image data generated by the image data generating unit to the image forming device performing short-range wireless communication with the wearable device.

Abstract: Devices and methods for managing print jobs on a printing device having a plurality of output media trays are disclosed. The method includes monitoring a print job in an active state, the print job is associated with a predetermined output media tray. The print job being switched from the active state to a held state is detected based on a status of at least one of a first set of printing resources, print input conditions, and print output conditions being negative for the print job. A new incoming print job received at the printing device is identified. A second set of printing resources, print input conditions, and print output conditions are determined for the new incoming print job. Finally, the printing device is triggered to print the new incoming print job for producing prints via an alternate output media tray while the print job is in the held state.

Abstract: An image reading apparatus capable of recognizing edge portions of an original image with precision is provided. The image reading apparatus uses an image reading unit to scan an original being conveyed and read an image of the original. The image reading apparatus includes an edge information obtaining unit and an edge determining unit. The edge information obtaining unit detects an image of an edge portion of the original image and obtains, for each point in a main scanning direction, edge information, which indicates whether or not an edge portion image is detected at the point in a sub-scanning direction. The edge determining unit conducts detection from at least one of two directions of the main scanning direction to detect a point where a given number of successive edge portion images are detected, and obtains an edge portion based on the detected point.
