Abstract: A scanning device for automatically scanning and processing a document includes a port for communicating with a portable memory device, an image sensor, a processing device, and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium. The processing device is configured to detect a trigger event by detecting that the portable memory device is communicatively coupled to the port, automatically determine a scan instruction having at least one scan setting, determine whether the portable memory device includes one or more security instructions, determine whether biometric information associated with an authenticated user is available, identify the biometric information as a secure access token, automatically cause the image sensor to scan a physical document to generate a digital document file corresponding to the physical document based on the scan instruction, and save the digital document file to the portable memory device with the secure access token.

Abstract: A print device has a port, a print engine, a processing device and a memory. The print device is configured to detect that a portable memory device has become communicatively connected to the port, retrieve a digital document file to be printed and a print instruction from the portable memory device, determine that a first print job is being performed in the print device, suspend the first print job, determine a second print job derived from the digital document file, and automatically perform the second print job based on the print instruction. The print device further detects that the second print job has been completed or interrupted, and automatically resumes the first print job. If the second print job is directed to the same output tray as the first print job, the print device may also print a separator sheet to the output tray before performing the second print job.

Abstract: A system and method for automatically scanning a physical document and performing processing actions on the scanned document are provided. The system may include a scanning device that can detect a trigger event when a portable memory device is connected to or paired with the device or when a document, including one or multiple pages, is placed on the document handler of the device. Upon detecting the trigger event, the scanning device may retrieve scan instructions from a designated folder on the portable memory device, automatically scan the document on the document handler, and perform various processing actions on the digital document file for the scanned document based on the scan instructions, with little or no user interaction. The processing actions may include storing, faxing, emailing the scanned document. The instructions for each processing action may be stored at one of multiple designated folders of the portable memory device.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses methods and systems for selective translation of a language of a multi-function device, wherein the language of the multi-function device is a pre-defined language. The method includes receiving a print job from a user along with one or more job attributes, wherein at least one job attribute indicates a local language of the user. Then, the local language is identified from the at least one job attribute. One or more job specific user interfaces are identified. Based on the identified local language of the user, the identified one or more job specific user interfaces are translated in the local language of the user and stored. After this, an input from the user is received. Based on the input, at least one translated job specific user interface is displayed in the local language of the user.

Abstract: System(s) and method(s) for transferring print jobs from a multi-function device to an external storage device are described. The method includes detecting the external storage device by the multi-function device when the external storage device is connected to the multi-function device. The method further includes determining if there is a print job of a user in a print queue of the multi-function device and displaying an option to transfer the print job to the external storage device based on the determination. The method includes receiving an input from the user, the input is indicative of a selection of the option to transfer the print job. Also, the method includes automatically creating a pre-defined folder in the external storage device based on receiving the input and transferring the print job of the user from the print queue of the multi-function device to the pre-defined folder of the external storage device.

Abstract: The disclosure discloses methods and systems for managing one or more incomplete jobs in a multi-function device. The method includes checking a stored profile of a user for a previously stored incomplete job when the user logs in into the multi-function device or a networked multi-function device. Based on the check, it is further checked if the previous incomplete job is compatible with configuration of the logged-in multi-function device. Then, based on the check, a user interface is presented with the previous incomplete job along with one or more options related to the previous incomplete job. The user is allowed to select an option of the one or more options, the one or more options allow the user to take an action related to the previous incomplete job. Finally, the previous incomplete job is executed in accordance with the selection.
