Abstract: A system for tracking the location of an electronic device includes an electronic device and a wireless location tag. The wireless location tag includes a microcontroller unit, and a modular connector interface configured to be communicatively coupled to a port of the electronic device. The wireless location tag is configured to establish an Internet connection to one or more backend electronic devices in response to detecting that the wireless location tag has been communicatively coupled to the port of the electronic device, obtain identifying information that is associated with the electronic device, and identify tag identifying information associated with the wireless location tag. The wireless location tag is also configured to send one or more instructions to the one or more backend electronic devices via the Internet connection, and send one or more ping messages to the one or more backend electronic devices.

Abstract: An image output method including capturing an image of code pattern including device information specifying an image output device, obtaining the device information from the image of code pattern, obtaining user information specifying a user, and outputting the device information, and the user information or a permission information for temporarily permitting the use of the image output device to an external device, by an information processing device; authenticating the user based on the user information, by a processor; and executing image output processing by the image output device specified based on the device information when authenticating the user based on the user information or when the permission information is sent from the information processing device.

Abstract: A shared terminal includes circuitry. The circuity controls a display to display an image to a plurality of users, and obtains, from a first terminal of a first user, first terminal identification information. The circuitry transmits the first terminal identification information and an authentication request, to a terminal management server, and receives a first user name of the first user from the terminal management server. The circuitry controls the display to display a print configuration screen, and receives setting of print parameters for an image being displayed on the display via the print configuration screen, and receives other user name of the plurality of users other than the first user. The circuitry transmits data generated based on the image displayed on the display, the first user name, the other user name, and the print parameters that are set on the print configuration screen, to a print server.

Abstract: An image forming method includes: sending a print job and a print job ticket including user ID data from a terminal to an image forming apparatus and sending the print job ticket to a mobile terminal; receiving the print job ticket by the image forming apparatus; waiting for an access from a mobile terminal having the user ID data using a wireless communication in a specified range from the image forming apparatus; authenticating for accessing the print job ticket in the image forming apparatus using the user ID data; acquiring a facial image of a user in front of the image forming apparatus in response to the authentication; recognizing a face of an owner of the print job ticket in the acquired facial image to cause the image forming apparatus to print the image data; and printing the image data while the facial image is being recognized.
