An inspection apparatus includes at least one memory that stores instructions, and at least one processor that executes the instructions to provide a screen to display an image on which a plurality of pages is imposed and to receive a layout of an inspection area on one of the plurality of pages imposed on the displayed image based on a user instruction, and replicate the inspection area set on the one page at corresponding positions on the other pages imposed on the displayed image.

A printer monitoring system includes: a server configured to collect event information indicating an event that occurs in a printer; and a mobile device configured to execute a display application that causes a display to display a related screen including the event information. The server generates link information for directly transitioning a screen displayed by the display application to the related screen corresponding to the event information, and transmits the event information received from the printer and the link information to the mobile device. The mobile device displays the event that occurs in the printer on the display in a selectable manner, and causes a screen displayed by the display application to be transitioned to the related screen indicated by the link information when the event is selected.

An image forming apparatus includes a print engine, a first CPU that controls operation of the image forming apparatus except for the print engine, a second CPU that controls operation of the print engine, and a shared memory. On executing processing of a print job, the first CPU performs a job management including managing job management information and storing the job management information in a data area of the shared memory, and the first CPU outputs image data to be printed, stored in the data area, to the print engine. The second CPU monitors an operation state of the first CPU and, on determining that the abnormality is occurring in the first CPU, maintains the processing of the print job by outputting the image data to be printed to the print engine as proxy for the first CPU and performing the job management as proxy for the first CPU.

An image forming apparatus combines a plurality of sub-movies representing operation procedures to be performed to perform maintenance on the image forming apparatus and plays the combined sub-movies sequentially as one movie. In response to stopping the movie being played, the image forming apparatus displays a replay mark for use to issue a command to replay the movie from the beginning of a sub-movie corresponding to a position where the movie is stopped.

The present disclosure is directed to systems, methods, and devices that enable monitoring of threshold values related to parameters within a printing device through the communication of one or more terminal devices and the printing device with a threshold subscription unit. The terminal devices transmit threshold values to be monitored to the threshold subscription unit. The threshold subscription unit then orders those threshold values into a queue and assigns one to the printing device. Upon receiving an alert from the printing device that a parameter value related to the assigned threshold value has been reached, the threshold subscription unit notifies the terminal devices of this and assigns the next threshold value in the queue to the printing device. This continues until all threshold values in the queue have been reached.

An image reading device includes a reading unit, a drive section, an operation control section, an acquiring section, and a casing. The drive section moves the reading unit. The operation control section controls a drive operation by the drive section and a light emitting operation by a light emitting section. The acquiring section acquires status information indicating a state of the device. The casing constitutes an outer contour of the device. The casing has a symbol inscribed on a predetermined portion therein. The symbol corresponds to the status information item. When the acquiring section acquires the status information item, the operation control section controls the drive section to move the reading unit to a position corresponding to the portion on which the symbol corresponding to the status information item is inscribed and controls the light emitting section to emit light while the reading unit is located at the position.

An image forming apparatus includes a receiving unit configured to receive data via a network, a printing unit configured to print an image based on the data received from the receiving unit, and a control unit configured to control the receiving unit to refuse a data reception based on a simple mail transfer protocol (SMTP) when a toner remaining amount for the printing unit is less than a predetermined value, wherein the printing unit is configured to print, in the case that the receiving unit receives page description language (PDL) data, an image based on the received PDL data even if the toner remaining amount is less than the predetermined value.
