    摘要: An information processing apparatus having a power-saving standby power mode, according to an embodiment of the present invention, first communicates with an image reading device configured to read an image from an original and receives image data obtained in the reading of the image. In a case where a reading operation does not normally terminate because the information processing apparatus changes to a power-saving state during the reading operation and it is confirmed that the image processing apparatus has returned from the power-saving state, the information processing apparatus instructs the image reading device to discard the received image data of an image that was being read from an original when the information processing apparatus shifted to the power-saving state, and re-read the image that was being read from the original.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a print engine, a first CPU that controls operation of the image forming apparatus except for the print engine, a second CPU that controls operation of the print engine, and a shared memory. On executing processing of a print job, the first CPU performs a job management including managing job management information and storing the job management information in a data area of the shared memory, and the first CPU outputs image data to be printed, stored in the data area, to the print engine. The second CPU monitors an operation state of the first CPU and, on determining that the abnormality is occurring in the first CPU, maintains the processing of the print job by outputting the image data to be printed to the print engine as proxy for the first CPU and performing the job management as proxy for the first CPU.

    摘要: Described herein is a fax processing system for the improvement of efficiency and reliability of fax transmissions over any communications network, specifically for retransmitting an incomplete transmission. Fax images are encoded with an embedded digital bit signal by a fax software program on the originating fax that indicates the number of pages in the document where such bit signal is recognized by fax software at a fax service for the purpose of monitoring the page count of the transmission, and in the case of a failed transmission, using the embedded digital data to notify the recipient that more pages will be transmitted, and further transmitting the remaining pages on the next facsimile phone call.
