摘要: In a heavy-duty saw assembly having a base, a pair of columns, a feed carriage guidably mounted upon the columns supporting a power-driven saw, a hydraulic lift feed cylinder assembly within each column and connected to the carriage, an elongated saw train extending at right angles to the base, including a plurality of transverse rollers, a sprocket chain connected to the rollers for selective rotation in unison for intermittently feeding an elongated workpiece onto the base transversely of and under the saw, spaced normally open rear and front hydraulic vises adjustably mounted upon the base adapted to selectively grip the work, and a pair of spaced manually rotatable lead screws journaled upon the base connected to the vises respectively, the improvement of a hydraulic circuit therefor which comprises first and second hydraulic circuits, first and second power-operated hydraulic pumps for feeding pressurized liquids into the circuits and a four-way, three-position, spring centered, solenoid-activated saw carriage feed first valve in the first circuit having an outlet connected to the lift feed cylinder assemblies for selectively raising and lowering the saw feed carriage. A reversible hydraulic motor having an output drive is connected to the sprocket chain; and a four-way, three-position, spring centered, solenoid-activated second valve in the first circuit has an output connected to the hydraulic motor. A two-position, four-way, spring offset, solenoid-operated third valve in the second circuit has an outlet connected to the rear vise, and the saw carriage being initially retracted, activation of the second four-way valve and hydraulic motor first actuates the rollers. Activation of the third valve closes the rear vise upon the work and successive actuation of the first valve actuates the cylinder assemblies for feeding the saw to and through the work.

摘要: A saw wherein an arbor is mounted to drive a circular saw blade from below a flat work surface upward through a slot in the work surface to sever any work piece suitably disposed on the work surface. A guard/clamp above the work surface is lowered to engage and clamp each such work piece on the work surface before the saw blade begins its ascent. A sensor is mounted on the guard/clamp to sense the presence of a work piece at a location immediately on the work piece feed side of the saw blade and adjacent a saw fence. The sensor prevents operation of the saw when the sensor fails to establish the presence of a work piece on the work surface.

摘要: A high volume food load slicing machine comprising a pair of loaf feed belt conveyors that continuously advance a food loaf along a downwardly inclined path through a collar into a slicing station at which a rotating and orbiting knife slices the load includes a variable speed knife rotation drive independent of the main drive that orbits the knife and drives the loaf conveyors. A hydrostatic speed variator in the drive connection for the conveyors, with speed corrections made by a stepper motor, affords precision control of slice thickness. A split collar and associated sensor afford continuous sensing of the loaf cross section to provide effective slice thickness correction; the collar is of molded machinable resin so that the knife can cut a working surface on the collar to a precise contour. The collar includes vacuum means to hold the butt end of a loaf for slicing.
