    摘要: A cutter assembly for cutting printed media in a printer comprises a housing arranged for displacement across a media path, in a cutting direction at right angles to a media advance direction in the printer, a first rotary cutting blade carried on said housing such as to be positioned generally on the printed side of the media, and a second rotary cutting blade carried on said housing such as to be positioned generally on the side of the media opposite the printed side, the cutting blades being engageable with each other such as to cut the media between them, and the first rotary cutting blade being arranged upstream of the second rotary cutting blade in the media advance direction.

    摘要: A rotational positioning and locking mechanism for the cutter arm component of a cutting workstation. This allows the cutter to be capable of rotation producing a variety of miter cuts. The cutter positioning and locking mechanism will allow positioning of the cutter in a variety of predetermined angles based on holes or stops in the cutter arm into which the lock is inserted. Should it be desired the cutter be placed at an angle that has not been predetermend, a friction shoe will allow the cutter arm to be rotated and positioned and any angle between the angles predetermined by the stops.

    摘要: A cutting workstation which includes a cutter mounted on an arm type configuration. The arm configuration is slidably moveable relative to a divided work piece support table, the cutter moveable there between. Further, the cutter is capable of elevating the arm either above or below the worktable. Not only is the arm capable of being lengthened and shortened, but also it is also of capable of rotation producing a variety of miter cuts. The arm is also capable of rotating to a vertical axis to produce a chop cut motion. The bifurcated table or work piece support is capable of being rotated through a number of degrees relative to the cutter also producing mitered or angled cuts. The bifurcated worktable is also capable of being elevated above or below or at the level of the cutter. The cutter, if in the form of a circular cutter blade, is preferably provided with the conventional pivotal spring-loaded blade guard. If the cutter is in the form of a router or shaper bit, it should be preferably provided with a pivotal spring-loaded or fixed dent guard. An embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the drawings.

    摘要: A cutting workstation which includes a cutter mounted on an arm type configuration. If the cutter is in the form of a router or shaper bit, it should be preferably provided with a pivotal spring-loaded or fixed dent guard.     摘要: A cutting machine for cutting long lengths of sheet material, roll material, or web material into predetermined or discrete lengths comprises a frame having a stationary blade extending transversely of the frame and a carriage movable transversely of the material to be cut having a movable blade thereon that cooperates with the stationary blade to cut material. The movable blade is mounted on the carriage so that it can be canted at an angle with respect to the stationary blade during transverse movement of the carriage in one direction and can be oppositely canted at an angle with respect to the stationary blade during movement of the carriage in the opposite direction. In one embodiment, a toggle mechanism is used to cant the movable blade. In a second embodiment, a fluid cylinder is used to cant the movable blade.

    摘要: A method and device for directly positioning and holding media against an output platen while a cutter traverses across a media path. A cutter assembly is mounted on an arm which periodically passes over the media, and includes a cutter blade and at least one media restraint wheel which presses the media against the output platen. The media restraint wheel is located in close proximity to the cutter blade, such that the media restraint wheel is upstream from the cutter blade and also is laterally displaced from the cutter blade to achieve direct engagement of the media by the media restraint wheel prior to cutting the media. The media restraint wheel includes a soft rubber-like tire which rolls along a top surface of the media while rotating freely on an vertically adjustable axle, in order to accomodate both thick and thin media, without the need for a separate media hold-down device. A biasing spring presses downwardly against the axle to assure secure holding of the media against the output platen. In a preferred embodiment, at least one opposing wheel upstream from the cutter blade is provided on the cutter assembly for rolling engagement with the output platen to assure proper positioning of the cutter assembly.

    摘要: An apparatus for forming a tab portion on a thin laminated sheet having work stations for scoring the sheet on a forward edge along a line to form the tab portion. The tabbing station includes a shuttle member having a pair of spaced rollers, one with a cutting edge and the other being a backing roller. The edge to be scored is passed between the rollers, such that the cutting roller as it traverses the length scores the sheet by a controlled amount which is determined by the preselected spacing between the cutting edge and the backing roller, whereby the unscored portion remains the same thickness regardless of the thickness variations of the sheet.
