The second acceleration cylinder includes a second contacting segment and a second relieved portion circumferentially adjacent to the second contacting segment. The first acceleration cylinder and the second acceleration cylinder grip the web at a gripping location with the first contacting segment and the second contacting segment as the web is cut by the cutting apparatus.

摘要： An apparatus for portioning meat includes a base unit, controlling means, first drive means mounted on the base unit, a casing mounted on the base unit, second drive means that cooperates with the first drive means to rotate the casing, and a pressing member dividing the casing into at least two chambers, an in-feed chamber and a pressing chamber. The pressing member is rotatably mounted between the base unit and a top plate, so as to be off-center with respect to the casing, substantially closer to the pressing chamber than the in-feed chamber, such that the pressing member has freedom to move in direction substantially perpendicular to the off-center direction. The apparatus also includes an ejecting device mounted on the base unit, a portioning plate receiving the meat ejected from the pressing chamber, a position adjustable bottom piece, and a cutting means, positioned between the pressing chamber and the portioning plate.

摘要： A slicing machine includes a tapered slicing gate for use in cutting products such as potatoes or the like into a plurality of slices each having a tapered thickness. The slicing machine generally corresponds to U.S. Pat. No. 3,521,688 and includes a rotary impeller for carrying the products by centrifugal force against an interior surface of a nonrotating cylindrical outer impeller housing, a portion of which defines an adjustable slicing gate forming a cutting slot of controlled thickness relative to a stationary slicing knife for cutting the products into the plurality of slices. A tapered ramp is formed or mounted at a downstream end of the slicing gate so that the cutting slot and the resultant slices have a tapered configuration. The tapered slices may be cut further into elongated strips, such as French fry potato strips, having a tapered lengthwise thickness.

摘要： A chopper for chopping fibers or fiber strands having a back up roll and a blade roll containing blades that work against a peripheral surface of the back up roll and a method of using is disclosed. The chopper has a number of improved features for reducing the frequency of long fibers or long fiber strands and fuzz from getting into the chopped product. The chopper can have one or any combination of the improvements. The improvements include a strand guide located at least two feet up stream of the chopper, a first starting roll for starting a new strand that runs on a fluid bearing that can be adjusted to control the RPM of the first starting roll, a mount for a roll that runs against the peripheral surface of said back up roll, a strand guide insert for reducing fuzz generation and for preventing fuzz from getting into the product, and a deflector plate for catching and deflecting chopped strands thrown off the back up roll into a chopped strand product chute.
