The server backup method includes continuously collecting a plurality of dirty pages during a running operation and determining a backup start time point according to a quantity of the collected dirty pages. The server backup method also includes suspending the running operation according to the backup start time point and executing a backup snapshot operation to generate a data backup snapshot corresponding to the dirty pages, and executing a backup transmission operation to transmit the data backup snapshot.
Abstract:
A Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe) network system with fail-over capability and an operation method thereof are provided. The PCIe network system includes a management host, a PCIe switch, a first non-transparent bridge, and a second non-transparent bridge. The upstream port of the PCIe switch is electrically coupled to the management host. The first non-transparent bridge is disposed in the PCIe switch for electrically coupling to the first PCIe port of a calculation host. The first non-transparent bridge can couple the first PCIe port of the calculation host to the management host. The second non-transparent bridge is disposed in the PCIe switch for electrically coupling to the second PCIe port of the calculation host. The second non-transparent bridge can couple the second PCIe port of the calculation host to the management host.

Abstract:
A method and a computer system for memory management on a virtual machine system are provided. The memory management method includes the following steps. A least recently used (LRU) list is maintained by at least one processor according to a last access time, wherein the LRU list includes a plurality of memory pages. A first portion of the memory pages are stored in a virtual memory, a second portion of the memory pages are stored in a zram driver, and a third portion of the memory pages are stored in at least one swap disk. A space in the zram driver is set by the at least one processor. The space in the zram driver is adjusted by the processor according to a plurality of access probabilities of the memory pages in the zram driver, an overhead of a pseudo page fault, and an overhead of a true page fault.
Abstract:
The present disclosure proposes a disk logging method configured for an electronic device comprising a temporary non-volatile storage medium to log data from a volatile memory to said first storage medium, and the method includes the elements of aggregating data from applications of the electronic device in a queue, transferring the aggregated data to a per device queue targeted toward a native queue of the storage medium, writing the data stored in the native queue of the storage medium into a disk platter of the storage medium, and transmitting an interrupt in response to the completion of the writing of the data to the disk platter, wherein the first batch size is dynamically adjusted such that the step of writing the data to the platter takes more time than the step of transferring the data from the per device queue to the native queue of the storage medium.
Abstract:
A detection system for determining whether an update of at least one application installed on at least one whitelisted host is legitimate is provided. The system includes an update management server and update detectors installed with the application(s). During a process that software automatic update occurs in each update detector and a corresponding update installation package is executed, the executed update installation package generates at least one updater corresponding to each application. Each update detector transmits report information which includes the information of the at least one updater and sampled executable files to the update management server. The update management server obtains a number of update detectors, having performed the update operation of each application, according to the report information of each update detector. If the number is greater than or equal to a threshold value, it is determined that the update is legitimate.
Abstract:
A method for labeling object of operating system is adapted to a target object of a target operating system, wherein the target object has a target attribute. The method comprises: generating a default label by a labeling tool according to the target attribute; obtaining a reference object of a reference operating system, wherein the reference object has a reference attribute and a reference label; comparing whether the target attribute and the reference attribute are identical and generating a comparison result; and labeling the target object with the default label, the reference label, or one of a plurality of candidate labels according to the comparison result and a type of the target object.
Abstract:
A method for generating secure alternative representation for a numerical datum, being performed in a processing system comprising a processing unit coupled to a storage unit, is provide. The method comprises: receiving the numerical datum; providing a plurality of semi-finished conditions; associating each of the semi-finished conditions with one or more secret parameters to form a plurality of secret conditions; for each of the secret conditions: determining whether the numerical datum satisfies the secret condition; outputting a first character as a result element if the numerical datum satisfies the secret condition; and outputting a second character as the result element if the numerical datum does not satisfy the secret condition; and concatenating each result element being output corresponding to the secret conditions as an alternative representation for the numerical datum.
Abstract:
The application discloses a method, a computer program product and a processing system for generating a secure alternative representation. The method in a processing system including: providing, by the processing system, a first sequence including a plurality of first values; providing, by the processing system, a plurality of storage cells belonging to a plurality of groups, each of the groups having one or more storage cells; performing, by the processing system, for each of the storage cells a symbol-deriving and cell-filling procedure; composing, by the processing system, a queue for each of the groups by picking up the symbol(s) filled in the storage cell(s) of the corresponding one of the groups; and generating, by the processing system, a secure alternative representation for the first sequence by concatenating the composed queue for each of the groups.
