Abstract: In one embodiment, an apparatus comprises a storage device and a processor. The storage device stores a plurality of images captured by a camera. The processor: accesses visual data associated with an image captured by the camera; determines a tile size parameter for partitioning the visual data into a plurality of tiles; partitions the visual data into the plurality of tiles based on the tile size parameter, wherein the plurality of tiles corresponds to a plurality of regions within the image; compresses the plurality of tiles into a plurality of compressed tiles, wherein each tile is compressed independently; generates a tile-based representation of the image, wherein the tile-based representation comprises an array of the plurality of compressed tiles; and stores the tile-based representation of the image on the storage device.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method and a system for optimizing transmission of user relevant events. The method includes generating an event metadata for a user relevant event from an event snippet of the user relevant event. The event snippet is obtained from a multimedia content. The multimedia content includes at least one of an audio stream or a video stream. The method further includes transmitting the event metadata associated with the user relevant event. The event metadata includes a set of frames associated with the user relevant event, a start timestamp and an end time stamp associated with the user relevant event, and key information associated with the user relevant event. The method further includes reconstructing a segment of the multimedia content associated with the user relevant event based on the event metadata.

Abstract: Generative AI systems and methods are provided to produce leading indicators of economic activity based on, for example, agricultural, fishing, mining, lumber harvesting, environmental, or ecological attributes and other factors determined from a range of available data sources. A consistent, semantic metadata structure is described as well as a hypothesis generating and testing system capable of generating predictive analytics models in a non-supervised or partially supervised mode. Users may then subscribe to the date for the use in economic forecasting.

Abstract: In one aspect, an example method includes (i) obtaining video that depicts an area across multiple frames of the video, wherein the area is part of a scene of the video, and wherein the area is suitable for having an object inserted therein; (ii) detecting the area within the obtained video and determining area characteristic data associated with the detected area; (iii) determining scene attribute data associated with the scene; (iv) using at least the determined area characteristic data and the determined scene attribute data as a basis to select an object from among a set of multiple candidate objects; (v) inserting into the detected area the selected object to generate video that is a modified version of the obtained video; and (vi) outputting for presentation the generated video.

Abstract: A physical camera provenance scoring system issues challenges to a source of video imagery that purports to include a physical camera. The challenges may include requests for camera metadata, requests to change camera parameters, requests to deploy specific camera capabilities, and requests for video imagery. The challenges are designed to elicit responses that can be used to determine a likelihood score that video imagery was captured by a physical camera as opposed to a virtual camera being deployed in an injection attack. The responses may be input to a machine classifier trained on imagery of known provenance to generate the likelihood score. The score may depend on the consistency of responsive camera metadata with received imagery, the behavior and end state of the video source in response to sequences of challenges, the ability of the video source to execute challenges, and the timing and computational load associated with challenge execution.

Abstract: In a digital image annotation and retrieval system, a machine learning model identifies an image feature in an image and generates a plurality of question prompts for the feature. For a particular feature, a feature annotation is generated, which can include capturing a narrative, determining a plurality of narrative units, and mapping a particular narrative unit to the identified image feature. An enriched image is generated using the generated feature annotation. The enriched image includes searchable metadata comprising the feature annotation and the plurality of question prompts.

Abstract: The disclosed systems and methods provide a novel framework that provides mechanisms for performing cost-effective, accurate and scalable detection and recognition of fine-grained events. The framework functions by training high precision and high recall object/optical character recognition (OCR) models and aligning video frames to text commentaries of the videos (e.g., licensed play-by-play). The disclosed framework operates as a single algorithm that performs multimodal alignments between events/actions within videos and their prescribed text. Thus, the disclosed framework is able to scale to fine-grained action categories across different venues by delving into the key frames and key aspects of a video to identify particular actions performed by particular actors, thereby providing the novelty of fine-granted action detection and recognition.

Abstract: Methods, systems and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media for unmanned aerial vehicle visual line of sight flight operations. A UAV computer system may be configured to ensure the UAV is operating in visual line of sight of one or more ground operators. The UAV may confirm that it has a visual line of sight with the one or more user devices, such as a ground control station, or the UAV may ensure that the UAV does not fly behind or below a structure such that the ground operator would not be able to visually spot the UAV. The UAV computer system may be configured in such a way that UAV operation will maintain the UAV in visual line of sight of a base location.
