    摘要: A reflection mirror using a liquid crystal cell is disclosed. A first thin film consisting of one of magnesium difluoride, silicon dioxide, silicon monoxide or titanium dioxide is formed on a glass substrate supporting the liquid crystal cell and a thin aluminum film is formed on the first thin film as a reflection mirror layer. Adhesiveness of the thin aluminum film to the glass substrate is strengthened by the first thin film. A second thin film is formed on the thin aluminum film to protect the same from being hurt. The reflection mirror may be used as a dazzle-free reflection mirror of an automotive vehicle.

    摘要: A method for controlling an engine using a continuously variable transmission, the method decreases the fuel consumption of the engine in a transient shifting condition. When the operator displaces the accelerator means and the magnitude of the difference between a steady state engine speed, which corresponds to the amount the throttle means of the engine is opened, and a previously detected engine speed differs from a predetermined constant value, the engine speed abruptly increases after a predetermined time elapses and thereafter the engine speed gradually changes to the steady state engine speed. The abrupt increases in the engine speed is a function of a vehicle speed and the amount of the throttle opening.

    摘要: A coating apparatus comprising a support assembly, a support moving mechanism for pivotally moving the support assembly about a horizontal axis, an applicator supported by the support assembly upwardly and downwardly movably, a position detector for detecting the raised or lowered position of the applicator, a pair of distance sensors attached to the support assembly and arranged one above the other at a distance for detecting the distance from the work surface to be coated, and a control unit connected to the position detector and to the distance sensors for causing the support moving mechanism to pivotally move the support assembly in response to detection signals from one of the distance sensors closer to the applicator to hold the applicator at a substantially constant distance from the work surface. Even when curved in the direction of the height, the work surface can be coated uniformly because the substantially constant distance is maintained between the applicator and the work surface.

    摘要: A transmission control device, for a road vehicle with an engine and a transmission which has a gearbox which includes several fluid pressure activated friction engaging mechanisms and which can provide at least three forward speed stages according to selective supplying of actuating pressures to the friction engaging mechanisms, practices a transmission control method. An electrically actuated hydraulic pressure control device selectively supplies actuating pressures to the friction engaging mechanisms so as to engage any one of the forward speed stages i.e. gear ratios. An electronic control system repeatedly at short time intervals receives from a road speed sensor and an engine load sensor signals representative of road speed and of engine load, then determines a target speed stage, then determines a decided speed stage, and then energizes the hydraulic pressure control device to engage the decided speed stage. The decided speed stage is determined so as to cause, when the actual speed stage and the target speed stage differ by less than two speed stages, immediate shifting of the gearbox to the target speed stage; and is also determined so as to cause, when the actual speed stage and the target speed stage differ by two or more speed stages, at least sometimes shifting of the gearbox by steps of one speed stage at a time to the target speed stage, the shifts by steps being separated in time by at least a predetermined first time interval.

    摘要: An engine includes a main intake passage having a throttle valve therein. A bypass passage branches off from the main intake passage upstream of the throttle valve and connects again to the main intake passage downstream of the throttle valve. A flow control valve, actuated by a step motor, is arranged in the bypass passage. When the speed difference between the desired idling speed and the actual idling speed is higher than 20 r.p.m., the step motor is rotated in a direction wherein the actual idling speed approaches the desired speed. Contrary to this, when the above-mentioned speed difference is lower than 20 r.p.m., the step motor remains stationary.

The pilot valve device comprises a main valve located in a pilot valve chamber, and a daughter valve located in a daughter valve chamber formed in the main valve. When a mechanical signal is applied to the daughter valve and brings the same to an open position, a compressed fluid contained in the pilot valve chamber is introduced into a main valve actuating chamber, with the result that the main valve is brought to an open position to permit the compressed fluid to flow into an operating valve actuating chamber.
