Abstract: The present application describes a polymeric mesh for the repair and regeneration of tissues from an organism that comprises pores wherein at least 70% of the pores of the said mesh have a size smaller than the one required to confine the cells of the said tissues, and wherein at least 70% of the pores of the said mesh has a size superior than the one needed for the passage of interstitial fluids of the said tissues; the degradation time of the said polymeric mesh within the organism is at least 8 weeks; the said polymeric mesh has an apparent tensile strength superior than 1 MPa; the said polymeric mesh has an apparent elastic modulus superior than 0.1 MPa. The mesh described in this application allows that the “new tissue” formed presents very similar properties to the ones of the damaged tissue. Thus, the polymeric mesh for the repair and regeneration of tissues described in this application can be used in medicine in combination or not with surgical methods, namely in the treatment of diseases that involve the repair and regeneration of tissues, particularly when the tissue to treat is cartilage, periodontal ligament, esophagus or skin.

Abstract: An improved process of making a benefit agent delivery particle and consumer products incorporating such particles are disclosed. The process comprises the steps of providing a first composition of water phase 1, water phase 2 and water phase 3. Water phase 1 comprises water and an initiator; water phase 2 comprises water, a water-soluble or dispersible amine(meth)acrylate or hydroxyl(meth)acrylate and a multifunctional (meth)acrylate. Water phase 3 comprises water, and carboxyalkyl(meth)acrylate and a base or quarternary ammonium acrylate. The first two water phases are combined to prereact the hydroxy- or amine(meth)acrylate and the multifunctional (meth)acrylate to form a multifunctional hydroxyl-amine(meth)acrylate pre-polymer. The pre-polymer is combined with water phase 3; then an emulsion is formed by emulsifying under high shear agitation a second composition into said first composition; said second composition comprising an oil phase comprising an isocyanate and a benefit agent core material thereby forming a wall surrounding the benefit agent core material.

Abstract: A super absorbent, honey-dosed foam/fiber composite, gap patterned wound dressing, comprising: a patterned foam/fiber composite structure having a gap patterned side and a non-gap patterned side, wherein the patterned side includes a pattern of foam/fiber gaps disposed between foam/fiber areas dosed with honey, where the pattern of foam/fiber gaps is formed by the honey-dosed areas, such that the patterned foam/fiber composite structure includes a layer of super absorbent material located substantially adjacent to the honey-dosed areas; and wherein a wound in contact with the gap patterned side discharges an exudate which substantially collects in the individual ones of the foam/fiber gaps causing honey in the individual ones of the honey-dosed areas to be substantially dispersed throughout a wound treatment zone and a portion of the exudate that is collected in the individual ones of the foam/fiber gaps is transferred to and collected in the super absorbent material.

Abstract: The absorbent article of the invention has a liquid impervious backsheet and a liquid pervious topsheet joined to the backsheet. The topsheet has an inner surface oriented toward the interior of the absorbent article and an outer surface oriented toward the skin and hair of the wearer when the absorbent article is being worn and an absorbent core positioned between the topsheet and the backsheet. At least a portion of the topsheet outer surface comprises an effective amount of a lotion coating which is semi-solid or solid at 20 degrees C., the lotion coating comprising:(i) from about 10 to about 95% of a substantially water free emollient having a plastic or fluid consistency at 20 degrees C. wherein the emollient contains 5% or less water, the emollient comprising a member selected from the group consisting of petroleum-based emollients, fatty acid ester emollients, alkyl ethoxylate emollients, and mixtures thereof;(ii) from about 5 to about 90% of an agent capable of immobilizing the emollient on the outer surface of the topsheet, the immobilizing agent being miscible with the emollient, the immobilizing agent having a melting point of at least about 35 degrees C. wherein the immobilizing agent is selected from the group consisting of polyhydroxy fatty acid esters, polyhydroxy fatty acid amides, C14-C22 fatty alcohols, C14-C22 fatty acids, C14-C22 fatty alcohol ethoxylates with a degree of ethoxylation of 4 or less, and mixtures thereof.

Abstract: A disposable diaper having front and rear augmented waistband zones having a specified size and stiffness is disclosed. For relatively thinner, less bulky diapers of currently marketed designs, providing augmented waistband zones is believed to reduce mental and physical effort for the caregiver in application of the diaper. The augmented waistband zones provide a robust-feeling structure proximate the waist edges, which the caregiver may grasp at front and rear to adjust the diaper on the wearer. Caregiver perception of a need to reach deeper into the diaper structure to grasp it at a thicker area to tug at it is believed to be reduced.
