    摘要: A graphical user interface displays a unique graphical indexing element such as a tab for each engaged and non-engaged messaging session. The user chooses which messaging session to make engaged by selecting its graphical indexing element. The graphical indexing elements have various distinctive characteristics to indicate the status of their respective messaging sessions, such as engaged, non-engaged with no unread messages, or non-engaged with at least one unread message. The messaging sessions may all be docked, in which event the engaged messaging session is displayed in a window pane set and the other messaging sessions are not displayed, or may be selectively undocked, in which event the engaged messaging session and the undocked messaging sessions are displayed in respective window pane sets. The engaged window pane set supports the communication of original or predefined messages between the user's digital device and the pal's messaging-enabled digital device, regardless of capability.

    摘要: The present invention features “molecular torches” and the use of molecular torches for detecting the presence of a target nucleic acid sequence. Molecular torches contain a target binding domain, a target closing domain, and a joining region. The target binding domain is biased towards the target sequence such that the target binding domain forms a more stable hybrid with the target sequence than with the target closing domain under the same hybridization conditions. The joining region facilitates the formation or maintenance of a closed torch.

    摘要: A system for monitoring the capacitor batteries of a three-phase filter circuit. Each capacitor battery is formed of a plurality of parallel legs each having a plurality of sectional capacitors which are connected in series with fuses. Adjacent ones of the sectional capacitors are coupled to one another. In a three-phase system, three capacitor batteries are coupled to one another in a Y-circuit configuration, the Y-circuit node being coupled to a reference potential, illustratively ground. The magnitude and phase of the fundamental frequency component of the current flowing from the Y-circuit node to the reference potential is monitored, variations therein being evaluated to identify defective sectional capacitors. Only variations in the Y-circuit node current which occur rapidly will trigger fault signals, thereby preventing false indications resulting from variations in temperature.

The progress of the actuation of the syringe plunger may be slowed down, interrupted or allowed to accelerate at any stage of the injection by virtue of frictional engagement with the tubular pushing member by a rubber piece mounted on the top edge of the trigger plate and a spring weaker than the trigger spring makes it possible for the braking friction to taper off gradually for better control of the movement of the syringe piston as the trigger is pulled away from the tubular pushing member against the force of the trigger spring.
