Abstract: A method for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a base station, a reference signal on a wideband channel. The method further includes estimating, at the UE, the wideband channel based on receiving the reference signal. The method still further includes identifying, at the UE, a bottleneck band of the wideband channel based on a metric associated with the estimated wideband channel. The method also includes transmitting, to the base station, a channel state feedback report based on identifying the bottleneck band, the channel state feedback report indicating channel state information (CSI) associated with the estimated wideband channel. The method further includes receiving, from the base station, a transmission grant based on transmitting the channel feedback report.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device may receive an assignment of a set of resources associated with a channel, where the set of resources includes a first subset of resources allocated for data transmission and a second subset of resources allocated for a reference signal. The wireless device may generate, from the reference signal in accordance with a minimum mean square estimation (MMSE) operation, a first set of multiple channel estimations per layer of the channel. The wireless device may generate, in accordance with a nonlinear two-dimensional interpolation of the channel, a second set of multiple channel estimations per layer of the channel and may perform a refinement operation utilizing the estimations to generate a channel estimation associated with multiple layers.

Abstract: A method for communication includes obtaining a timing signal from a timing synchronization reference source, computing a system frame number (SFN)-direct frame number (DFN) offset, creating a timing fingerprint using the timing signal and the SFN-DFN offset, the timing fingerprint also comprising additional timing information, entering the timing fingerprint into a database, continually updating the timing fingerprint, determining whether the timing signal remains within a threshold, if the timing signal exceeds the threshold, iterating the timing fingerprint, verifying the timing fingerprint to determine whether there is a timing inconsistency between a most recent timing fingerprint and current time, if the timing fingerprint is verified, using the SFN-DFN offset to derive current DFN timing to decode a sidelink control information (SCI) communication, and if the SCI communication is decoded, using the timing signal for communicating over a sidelink communication channel.

Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to decoding downlink control information (DCI) based on multiple DCI sizes. A first hypothesis of multiple hypotheses for decoding a communication received in a control channel search space, wherein the multiple hypotheses are based on different corresponding DCI sizes can be determined. The communication received in the control channel search space can be decoded based on the first hypothesis. For each of the multiple hypotheses and based on the different corresponding DCI sizes, information bits can be extracted from the communication as decoded. For each extracting of the information bits, cyclic redundancy check (CRC) can be performed based on one of the different corresponding DCI sizes to determine whether extracting of the information bits yields DCI.

For example, in some cases, combining decision metrics of a scrambled payload may generally involve receiving a first payload at a receiver that was scrambled both before and after encoding, generating a second payload at the receiver with selectively set payload mask bits, and using the selectively-set payload mask bits in the second payload to descramble the first payload.
