Abstract: A base station may configure a user equipment (UE) with a discontinuous reception (DRX), e.g., connected mode DRX (CDRX), and the UE may select a synchronization signal block (SSB) set to perform an SSB warm-up to wake up, search, and measure the SSB set to improve the performance of the UE during a DRX ON duration. The UE may select the SSB set based on a time difference of the SSB set relative to the DRX ON duration. The UE may be configured to wake up to measure one of a first SSB set or a second SSB set having a smaller time difference relative to the DRX ON duration.

Abstract: A method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus may be a User Equipment (UE) having a first subscription to a first RAT and a second subscription to a second RAT configured to operate using the first RAT, to change from operating using the first RAT to operating using the second RAT to monitor multiple Synchronization Signal Blocks (SSBs) at multiple times prior to performing at least one of decoding a paging message, receiving system information, searching a neighboring frequency, or measuring the neighboring frequency, to return to using the first RAT during a first period between at least one set of adjacent times of the multiple times that the UE monitors for the SSBs, and to change from using the first RAT to using the second RAT to receive the paging message, receive the system information, search the neighboring frequency, or measure the neighboring frequency.

The UE sets a discovery epoch to a shortest discovery period among discovery periods of a plurality of transmit resource pools, each transmit resource pool of the plurality of transmit resource pools associated with a respective frequency. The UE estimates a channel utilization of each transmit resource pool of the plurality of transmit resource pools based on one or more previous transmissions on each transmit resource pool of the plurality of transmit resource pools. The UE selects a transmit resource pool among the plurality of transmit resource pools for a D2D transmission within the discovery epoch based on the estimated channel utilizations.
