Abstract: Systems and methods for capturing and monitoring the health, safety, and/or activity of a user are described. In one aspect, the system generates a data usage pattern for the user and monitors the user's current data usage activity to detect data usage deviations from the user's usage pattern. When a deviation is detected, the system may send an alert message to the user or another user indicating that an anomaly may have occurred, permitting the user or another user to respond to the anomaly.

Abstract: A method for processing a broadcast service at a Primary Device (PD), and which includes performing a discovery process with a Companion Device (CD) application in a CD by receiving a discovery request from the CD and providing an endpoint for a WebSocket server of the PD; establishing a connection between the WebSocket server and the CD application based on the endpoint; in response to receiving a query for a current service from the CD, transmitting a response for the current service to the CD application based on the connection; receiving a broadcast signal having signaling information including flag information to obtain emergency data in the broadcast signal; and time de-interleaving Forward Error Correction (FEC) blocks including the emergency data based on a Time Interleaving (TI) block, wherein the FEC blocks are de-interleaved based on position for one or more virtual FEC blocks and the FEC blocks. In addition, the signaling information further includes information for a maximum number for the FEC blocks. The method also includes transmitting a notification message including the emergency data to the CD.

The method comprises receiving video from one or more video sources, and generating one or more questions associated with one or more portions of the video based on at least one user-defined objective. The method further comprises sending the one or more portions of the video and the one or more questions to one or more assistants, receiving one or more answers to the one or more questions from the one or more assistants, and determining a contextual interpretation of the video based on the one or more answers and the video.

Abstract: A dynamic broadcast system as well as a terminal and a control device for use in such a dynamic broadcast system are presented. Further, a decision logic is provided that dynamically decides transmission parameters, transmission times and transmission paths used for broadcasting and providing content based on monitoring data carrying information on user specific content usage and/or transmission quality data carrying information on the quality of a transmission link between a broadband server and a terminal and/or of a reception of content broadcast by a broadcast transmitter.

Abstract: Telemetry equipment for use in an Audience Survey System for ascertaining at a central control the program channels to which wave signal receivers are tuned at a plurality of remote preselected locations, comprising a single transmission path between the control and remote locations, an interrogation transmitter at the control center, a carrier frequency for transmission from the central control, sources of audio tones, means for grouping two or more of the tones to modulate the carrier, a different grouping of the tones being assigned to be representative of individual wave signal receivers, a transceiver at each remote location for receiving the modulated carrier, means for detecting the modulating tones thereat to initiate transmission of a reply from a respectively remote location which corresponds to the grouping of the modulating tones, means for modulating the reply signal to indicate the program to which the wave signal receiver is tuned at the remote location, and detection means at the central control for deriving from each received reply signal an indication of the tuning of the respective wave signal receiver.

Abstract: In response to an operation such as power-on or power-off, channel change and sound volume change, a television set combined with a personal computer automatically makes e-mail with information in a predetermined format indicative of the operation attached. The e-mail is automatically sent to another television set to inform the other television set of operation of the own television set. On the other hand, the e-mail can be sent to a rating company for audience share survey. The television set automatically reads the received e-mail and attachment to change the indication of display. The television set has storage of the received information for analysis of an abnormality. Abnormality can be also sensed through abnormal act on the remote controller apt to be taken by a person in panic or off the truck. The television set refuses information from unknown address for blocking an attack of a stranger.
