    摘要: The invention relates to audio transducers, such as loudspeaker, microphones and the like, and includes improvements in or relating to: audio transducer diaphragm structures and assemblies, audio transducer mounting systems; audio transducer diaphragm suspension systems, personal audio devices incorporating the same and any combination thereof. The embodiments of the invention include linear action and rotational action transducers. For both types of transducer, rigid and composite diaphragm constructions and unsupported diaphragm periphery designs are described. Systems and methods for mounting the transducer to a housing, such as an enclosure or baffle are also described. Furthermore, hinge systems including: rigid contact hinge systems and flexible hinge systems are also disclosed for various rotational action transducer embodiments. Various applications and implementations are described and envisaged for the audio transducer embodiments including, for example, personal audio devices such as headphones, earphones and the like.

    摘要: A hinge system having at least three hinge joints, consisting each of a hinge element and an associated contact member. The contact surface of the hinge element of each hinge joint moves relative to the contact surface of the associated contact member to enable rotatable oscillation of the hinge joint about a common axis of rotation during operation. The contact surface of each contact member is convexly curved and the hinge joints comprise convex surfaces facing in different directions to enhance operation of the hinge system. Multiple convex surfaces are preferably formed on a relatively rigid component to reduce manufacturing complexity and improve operation. The hinge system is particularly suited for audio transducer applications, but may also be used in other applications, such as in other electromechanical devices.

    摘要: Ultrasonic transducers that include backplates with a plurality of linear physical features formed on surfaces thereof and vibrator films tensioned in a specified manner for improved transducer performance. An ultrasonic transducer includes a backplate, a vibrator film, and a compliant member. The backplate includes the plurality of linear physical features formed parallel to one another on the backplate surface. The vibrator film has a metallized side and a non-metallized side, and is positioned proximate to the backplate such that its non-metallized side faces the linear physical features on the backplate surface. The compliant member applies a spring force to the vibrator film for urging the vibrator film against the backplate surface, while maintaining a constant, consistent, and uniform tension in the vibrator film in substantially one direction, preferably perpendicular to the linear physical features along the backplate surface.

    摘要: An omnidirectional electroacoustic transducer capable of reproducing a sound with high acoustic quality and sufficient sound volume in a wide frequency band is provided with a small number of components. The electroacoustic transducer includes: two or more electroacoustic transduction units each including an electroacoustic transduction film and an elastic supporter, the electroacoustic transduction film having a polymer composite piezoelectric body in which piezoelectric body particles are dispersed in a viscoelastic matrix formed of a polymer material having viscoelasticity at a normal temperature, and two thin film electrodes laminated on both surfaces of the polymer composite piezoelectric body, and the elastic supporter being disposed to be closely attached to one principal surface of the electroacoustic transduction film so as to cause the electroacoustic transduction film to be bent, in which the two or more electroacoustic transduction units are disposed so that the electroacoustic transduction films face outward and form some or all of faces of a polyhedron.

    摘要: There is provided a flat panel loudspeaker comprising a resonant panel, an exciter comprising a foot generally cylindrical in shape, coupled to the resonant panel and defining an inner region of the resonant panel. The exciter is drivable to vibrate the resonant panel via the foot, whereby to produce a sound. A stiffness of the resonant panel in the inner region is greater than a stiffness of the resonant panel in a region of the resonant panel outside the inner region. Additionally or alternatively, the flat panel loudspeaker further comprises a damping member in contact with the inner region of the resonant panel and arranged inside the foot to generally brace against the vibration of the resonant panel so as to damp a response of the resonant panel in the inner region to a vibration from the exciter.
