摘要: A non-aqueous electrolyte battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The positive electrode includes a positive electrode active material and an expanded metal. The expanded metal includes a frame portion constituting meshes. The frame portion includes strands and bonds connecting the strands to one another. The frame portion includes strands and bonds connecting the strands to one another. Each group of plural strands out of the strands surround an aperture of a corresponding one of the meshes. The number of the plural strands surrounding the aperture is four or more. At least one of the plural strands surrounding the aperture has a bent shape or a curved line shape.

摘要: An apparatus for separating battery plates includes a work surface for receiving a stack of battery plates, and an alignment mechanism for aligning the battery plates on the work surface. The work surface is movable between a first position in which it is angled with respect to a horizontal plane and a second position in which it is substantially aligned with the horizontal plane. When the work surface moves between the first and second position adjacent battery plates of the stack are displaced relative to each other.

摘要: Various embodiments are directed to an electrochemical cell having a non-homogeneous anode. The electrochemical cell includes a container, a cathode forming a hollow cylinder within the container, an anode positioned within the hollow cylinder of the cathode, and a separator between the cathode and the anode. The anode comprises at least two concentric anode portions, defined by different anode characteristics. For example, the two anode portions may contain different surfactant types, which provides the two anode portions with different charge transfer resistance characteristics. By lowering the charge transfer resistance of a portion of an anode located proximate the current collector of the cell (and away from the separator) relative to an anode portion located adjacent the separator, improved cell discharge performance may be obtained.

摘要: The present application relates to a positive electrode plate and an electrochemical device. The positive electrode plate includes a current collector, a positive active material layer and a safety coating disposed between the current collector and the positive active material layer, the safety coating including a polymer matrix and a conductive material, wherein the polymer matrix is fluorinated polyolefin and/or chlorinated polyolefin, and when the safety coating and the positive active material layer are collectively referred to as a positive film layer, the positive film layer includes Na ions and/or K ions at a content of 100 ppm or more, and has an absorption peak at 1646 cm−1 in infrared absorption spectrum. The positive electrode plate may improve safety performance at elevated temperature of the electrochemical device by quickly disconnecting the circuit at high temperature conditions or when an internal short circuit occurs.
