Abstract: A non-aqueous electrolyte battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The positive electrode includes a positive electrode active material and an expanded metal. The expanded metal includes a frame portion constituting meshes. The frame portion includes strands and bonds connecting the strands to one another. The frame portion includes strands and bonds connecting the strands to one another. Each group of plural strands out of the strands surround an aperture of a corresponding one of the meshes. The number of the plural strands surrounding the aperture is four or more. At least one of the plural strands surrounding the aperture has a bent shape or a curved line shape.

Abstract: A lithium primary battery includes a wound electrode body obtained by winding a sheet-like positive electrode, a sheet-like negative electrode, and a separator interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte solution. The positive electrode includes manganese dioxide as a positive electrode active material. The negative electrode includes at least one selected from the group consisting of metallic lithium and lithium alloys, and has a first principal surface and a second principal surface opposite to the first principal surface. An entire surface of each of the first principal surface and the second principal surface faces the positive electrode. A total area of the first principal surface and the second principal surface is 100 cm2 or more and 180 cm2 or less.

Abstract: A lithium primary battery includes an outer can, a wound-electrode assembly, and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The wound-electrode assembly includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator which are provided between the electrodes and are wound together. The positive electrode contains manganese dioxide. The negative electrode contains at least one substance selected from the group consisting of metallic lithium and metallic lithium containing a lithium alloy, and has a first main surface and a second main surface opposite to the first main surface. The first main surface and an entirety of the second main surface of the negative electrode face the positive electrode. The total area S of the first main surface and the second main surface of the negative electrode satisfies 250 cm2≤S≤700 cm2. The thickness Tp of the positive electrode satisfies 0.8 mm≤Tp≤1.4 mm. The outer diameter D of the outer can satisfies 25 mm≤D≤37 mm. The distance C between the outer can and the wound-electrode assembly satisfies 0.3 mm≤C≤1.0 mm.

Abstract: A lithium primary battery including a current collecting wire that electrically connects an electrode body and a sealing body or a battery can, in which the electrode body includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator, the negative electrode includes at least one selected from the group consisting of metal lithium and a lithium alloy, the current collecting wire includes a first lead connected to one of the positive electrode and the negative electrode, a second lead connected to the sealing body or the battery can, and an overdischarge suppressing element interposed between the first lead and the second lead, the overdischarge suppressing element includes a first metal layer connected to the first lead, with the first metal layer being thinner than the first lead, a second metal layer connected to the second lead, with the second metal layer being thinner than the second lead, and a conductive layer interposed between the first metal layer and the second metal layer disposed to face each other, the conductive layer includes a resin and a conductive material dispersed in the resin, and the conductive material inserts lithium ions at a potential that is lower than that of the positive electrode.
