摘要： Catheter monitor integration with patient support systems, such as patient beds, and with other healthcare communication systems including hand hygiene systems is provided. A patient bed that transmits bed data and catheter monitor data is disclosed. When catheter tubing is connected to a catheter monitor integrated into a patient bed, the bed automatically implements a falls prevention protocol. A countdown timer pertaining to removal of catheter tubing from a patient is displayed on one or more display devices. Monitoring for caregiver handwashing compliance in connection with use of a catheter monitor or a catheter kit is also provided.

摘要： A heating apparatus for an enclosure including at least a ceiling and a side wall, the apparatus includes a plurality of electrical resistance heating wires or sections of electrical resistance heating wire, and support means therefor. The support means include support members each having a first part adapted to be secured relative to the ceiling or side wall and a second part which projects inwardly of the enclosure, the second part including a plurality of spaced apart heating wire support formations. The support members and the heating wire support formations are arranged such that in use substantial portions of the length of each of the plurality of the heating wires or sections of heating wire, are supported side by side by the support members each parallel to or generally parallel to each other and to the ceiling or side wall of the enclosure.

摘要： A resistor grid for dynamic braking of diesel electric locomotives has a rigid frame that includes outer metal side pieces and metal dividers within the frame between which are positioned columns of fan-folded resistor ribbon. The dividers carry support plates having transverse aligned tabs along both sides fixed normal to the support plate, each tab having a notch in its inside edge, and supported plates for the resistor ribbon which slide in those slots longitudinally. The supported plates and the folds of the resistor ribbon carry studs and bushings which interfit by movement normal to those plates.

摘要： A heat dissipating resistor grid has a frame including side members carrying blocks or panels of insulating material having cavities in their inner surfaces. The resistor element is a zigzag strip formed from individual flat lengths of resistance material, each length having offset ends in opposite directions, adjoining offset ends forming a sandwich with a conductive support strip which extends beyond the offset end and terminates in projections which mate with the cavities in the insulating material. The support strip may extend into the space between the adjoining strips of resistance material forming a heat sink therein. The projecting ends of the support strip may be flat lengths, may be cut into tabs, may be formed into hollow cylinders in one piece with the support strip, may be solid cylindrical studs affixed to the support strip, or solid rod bent into U-shape with the base inside the offset ends. The insulating blocks may fit into cutouts in the frame and locked there by lateral movement.

摘要： A resistor grid for diesel electric locomotives and the like has a rigid frame comprising outer metal side pieces and one or more pairs of inner metal side pieces spaced from each other, and columns of resistor ribbon fan-folded between each outer and outermost inner side piece, and between certain inner side pieces. Supporting means interengaging each fold of the ribbons are insulated from and carried on each side by a metal strip which rides on its adjoining side piece so as to accommodate expansion of the resistor ribbon. The ribbon is indented between folds to stiffen it and increase its span and may by provided with a support rod centered between its side pieces. The resistor grid is preferably positioned in forced air cooled resistor banks face-to-face with conventional narrow span grids, and improves the cooling of such conventional banks.

Each element includes at least one open-ended loop having side portions and a tip end portion connected together through intervening strip portions of narrower width than the side portions to improve current carrying capacity and to provide for more even heating and heat dissipation. An assembly of such elements is particularly used as a resistor box in an electric, motor-driven, transit vehicle, such as a subway car, and is provided in a predetermined space envelope to perform predetermined electrical parameters.

摘要： A resistance element capable of withstanding a high voltage is formed through impurity diffusion in a single crystal island of a semiconductor integrated circuit substrate. The resistance element includes a resistive region formed in an exposed surface of the single crystal island and folded reciprocatively by at least one and a half turns in a planar zigzag-like pattern. The pitch at which the resistive region is folded is decreased as viewed in the direction in which extension of depletion layer formed within the single crystal island upon application of a voltage between two ends of the resistive region is decreased.

摘要： A laminated structure comprises a plurality of double-layer capacitor unit cells, each having a high withstand voltage. A complete capacitor is made by laminating a plurality of unit cells of the double-layer capacitors type and by connecting a plurality of resistors, having substantially equal resistances, in parallel with the respective unit cells. In a preferred embodiment, a high-precision integrated voltage-equalizing resistor is prepared by laying linear resistors on a flexible sheet which is then wrapped around the laminated unit cells.
