Abstract:
An imaging system comprising a source of light movable with respect to a writing element and projectable thereon to generate an image, a focusing system is provided for focusing a light source which generates a first beam of light of a wavelength selected to be actinic with respect to the writing element. At least a portion of the first beam of light is absorbed by the writing element. The apparatus includes a supply of donor sheets and receiver sheets which are independently fed to a writing drum. The sheets are selectively wound in supply rolls so that the "active" surfaces are oriented properly at the imaging station and have a "set" which matches the curve of the drum.
Abstract:
The rotary pointer, and also a diagram carrier of an indicating and recording apparatus, are driven in a forward direction from a motor through a gear train having two branch gear trains. When the device is manually set in forward direction, play is introduced into the gear trains which is eliminated by biasing means loaded by the gear train during forward movement. During continuous setting in the rearward direction, the biasing means would be untensioned which is prevented by one-way blocking means. A lost-motion device permits rearward setting for an angle of over 180*, and then couples the gear train with the blocking means so that the gear train is blocked after limited rearward setting which negligibly untensions the biasing means.
Abstract:
A recorder has a chart feed mechanism for automatically loading a chart for recording operation. By loading a chart stock storing a chart into a recorder case, discharge roller and feed roller of a chart feed means are actuated to feed the chart into a condition in which data can be recorded thereon.
Abstract:
A graphic recorder including a viewable well for holding a recording web in a moist condition. The recorder includes a demountable, transparent well cover and a transparent top. Walls are arranged on the sides of the top and they carry a linear electrode and a roller and simultaneously urge the well cover towards the well to seal the compartment and prevent the escape of moisture.
Abstract:
Battery-operated, dot type recording apparatus which is so constructed that the recording paper feed and the recording operation are alternately executed in short times and that a measuring instrument is actuated only during a period of time covering time intervals before and after each recording operation, the actuation of the measuring instrument and the recording paper feed as well as the recording operation being carried out at good timing in a short period of time, whereby the consumption of the battery is low, no high power is required at a time, and the recovery time of the battery suffices, so that the battery is of long life.
Abstract:
A portable strip chart recorder includes a programmable electronic drive circuit to drive an electric motor and a means for identifying the strip chart as having been recorded on a specific recorder, said strip chart incorporating graphic means of identifying the time interval programmed by the electronic drive circuit with points for identifying which specific time interval has been selected. The case of the recorder consisting of a base and a top having a self-locking hatch. The hatch in the top provides access for the operator to actuate electric switches which program the drive circuit to move the strip chart at a selected rate versus time. The surface over which the strip chart moves has an identifying number, or symbol, which can be reproduced on the chart by applying friction or heat. The hatch in the top of the case in self-locking and when closed operates an electric switch to close the battery-operated circuit.
Abstract:
The chronograph drum is mounted in fixed bearings at top and bottom so as to rotate in a fixed vertical axis. The drum can be driven at high or low speed by a motor.
Abstract:
A paper size determination device comprises a paper sensor for detecting paper passing a preset position on a feeding path and generating a detection signal, and a processing circuit for measuring the generation period of the detection signal supplied from the paper sensor and determining the paper size according to the generation period measured. The processing circuit of the determination device includes a step counter for measuring and holding time data on the generation period of the detection signal, in response to the detection signal generated from the paper sensor, a mode counter circuit for detecting that the step counter has completed the measurement and generating a measurement completed mode, and a data processor for detecting that the measurement completed mode has been set and determining the paper size according to the time data held by said step counter.
Abstract:
An irreversible optical medium for storing information by local modification of the optical properties of a recording layer under the action of a light beam with an irradiance of from 0.05 to 10 nJ .mu.m.sup.2, essentially consisting of a substrate and, applied on this, a particulate recording layer from 0.01 to 10 .mu.m thick, wherein the recording layer consists of a three-dimensional arrangement of particles having a mean particle diameter of from 4 to 40 nm, and a process for its production.
