    Abstract: A sensor device for detecting transport parameters representative of those experienced by a sample during transportation is provided. The sample is stored in a container. The sensor device includes a housing with a configuration that generally matches the configuration of the container, a hardened substrate portion formed from a substrate material, and a sensor assembly comprising at least one sensor for detecting at least one transport parameter (e.g. acceleration, orientation, temperature, etc.). The sensor assembly is secured within the housing by the hardened substrate portion. Optionally, a weight of the device approximates a combined weight of the container and the sample stored therein. The weight of the sensor device can be adjusted. When the device is positioned proximate to the container during transportation, the at least one transport parameter detected by the at least one sensor is analogous to that at least one transport parameter experienced in the container.

    Abstract: A method is provided for use in a sensor, the method comprising: selecting a switching cycle for the sensor; transitioning the sensor into a state in which at least one component of the sensor is periodically turned on and off in accordance with the switching cycle; sampling an analog signal to generate a sampled signal, the analog signal being generated by at least one sensing element, the analog signal being sampled only during periods in which the at least one component of the sensor is turned on; and generating an output signal based, at least in part, on the sampled signal and outputting the output signal.

    Abstract: Systems and techniques may be used for real time monitoring of content of a package. An example technique may include receiving sensor data sent from a first wireless telecommunications transmitter of a sensor device inside a package in transit, located together with content in the package, identifying whether the sensor data indicates that the content in the package was subjected to a condition outside of a specified range and receiving a status request for the package sent from a second wireless telecommunications transmitter of a mobile device based on a scanned machine-readable code on or affixed via a label to an outside face of the package. In response to receiving the status request, the technique may include sending an indication for display on the mobile device.

    Abstract: Various techniques are disclosed for encoding and communicating detection results. In one example, a device includes a detector configured to capture measurement data in response to an external source. The device further includes one or more processors. The detection device further includes one or more memories including instructions stored therein, which when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations. The operations include analyzing the measurement data to generate detection results. The operations further include generating a quick response (QR) code encoding at least a portion the detection results. The operations further include providing the QR code for access by an external device. Additional devices and related methods are also provided.

    Abstract: A wearable article incorporates a sensor device (10) which comprises a sensor module (101) and an input-output interface (105) arranged to send and receive data over a bidirectional line (11). A buffer (103) is arranged to store time-series sensor data. A programmable and erasable non-volatile memory (109) receives and stores an identifier for the sensor device (10). The sensor module (101) generates an inference using the sensor data. The sensor device (10) is arranged to switch between sending, over the bidirectional line (11), data sensed by the sensor module (101) and the generated inference. The sensor device (10) is a single-wire sensor device. The input-output interface (105) is a single-wire input-output interface. The sensor module (101) is a motion, electropotential, electroimpedance, chemical, or optical sensor module. The sensor device (10) is provided in a system comprising a master device.
