摘要: An EGR device includes a plurality of EGR inlet pipes connected to each of the plurality of intake branch passages, an exhaust gas inlet passage conveying a portion of the exhaust gas as EGR gas, an upstream-side branch passage in communication with the exhaust gas inlet passage and branching the EGR gas, and a downstream-side branch passage distributing the EGR gas branched in the upstream-side branch passage to the plurality of EGR inlet pipes. The downstream-side branch passage extends in a direction parallel to an arrangement direction of the plurality of cylinders. At least one of the exhaust gas inlet passage and the upstream-side branch passage is configured to suppress flow to a downstream side of condensed water located upstream of the downstream-side branch passage when acceleration in a direction parallel to the arrangement direction is applied to the internal combustion engine.

摘要: An EGR gas distributor includes a gas chamber, a gas inflow passage to introduce EGR gas on its upstream side, gas outflow passages to discharge the EGR gas to branch pipes on their downstream side. An inner wall on a downstream side of the gas chamber is divided into downstream-side divided walls corresponding to the respective gas outflow passages, and the downstream-side divided walls are curved or slanted to be of protrusion-like shape protruding toward the corresponding gas outflow passages. Downstream-side dividing ridges are provided each between the adjacent downstream-side divided walls. An inner wall on the upstream side of the gas chamber is placed to face the downstream-side inner wall and provided with at least one upstream-side ridge protruding toward the downstream-side divided walls in each area corresponding to the downstream-side divided walls.

摘要: An exhaust gas recirculation system for a gasoline engine, including an exhaust gas line, which can be connected to an exhaust manifold of the gasoline engine and which includes a turbine, and an inlet line, which can be connected to an intake manifold of the gasoline engine and which includes a compressor. A main exhaust gas catalytic converter is provided in the exhaust gas line, and at least one exhaust gas recirculation line_I is provided which branches off from the exhaust gas line upstream of the turbine and opens into the inlet line downstream of the compressor. At least one particle filter_I is provided which is placed in the exhaust gas recirculation line_I or in the exhaust gas line upstream of the exhaust gas recirculation line_I. The particle filter_I has a 3/Ox coating, and at least one cooler_I is provided within the exhaust gas recirculation line_I downstream of the at least one particle filter.

摘要: A control apparatus for an internal combustion engine according to the invention is applied to an internal combustion engine in which EGR gas and condensed water generated by an EGR cooler are supplied into a cylinder. The control apparatus calculates an equivalence ratio of the internal combustion engine, and controls an EGR valve and a condensed water supply valve such that, when the equivalence ratio is high, a supply rate of the condensed water increases and a supply rate of the EGR gas decreases relative to when the equivalence ratio is low.

摘要: A dual path exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system for an engine includes a common EGR intake path and first and second low pressure EGR paths including respective first and second EGR valves. The common EGR intake path is connected to the exhaust system downstream of a catalyst and includes an EGR cooler. The first EGR path is coupled directly to the EGR cooler and an inlet of a turbocompressor. The second EGR path is coupled directly to the EGR cooler and the intake system, thereby bypassing the turbocharger and an engine throttle valve. The engine includes an absence of any high pressure EGR path and the EGR valves are controlled such that the first EGR valve is closed and the second EGR valve is open at low engine speed and load operating conditions thereby providing EGR directly to the intake system that bypasses the turbocharger and throttle valve.

摘要: An exhaust-gas recirculation device is configured to be attached to a cylinder block including cylinders individually including built-in pistons and cause a portion of exhaust gas flowing through an exhaust system to recirculate to an intake system. The exhaust-gas recirculation device includes an intake manifold, a recirculation pipe, and a recirculation manifold. The intake manifold includes intake branches each including an intake passage communicating with an intake port and is configured to be disposed at the cylinder block. The recirculation pipe is coupled to an exhaust manifold capable of guiding the exhaust gas outward. The recirculation manifold includes recirculation branches each provided with a recirculation passage communicating with the intake passage via an introduction hole and is coupled to the recirculation pipe. The introduction hole has an inner diameter at a recirculation-passage side that is larger than an inner diameter at an intake-passage side.

In one embodiment, a method for an engine comprises controlling a flow of exhaust gas through an exhaust gas recirculation system of an engine system based on a choke level of a turbocharger. For example, the flow of exhaust gas in the exhaust gas recirculation system may be reduced to within a threshold of a choke level of the turbocharger, in response to an ambient condition.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for indicating water at an oxygen sensor based on power consumption of a heating element of the oxygen sensor. In one example, water may be indicated at an oxygen sensor positioned in an intake of an engine responsive to power consumption of the heating element of the oxygen sensor increasing above a baseline level. Engine operating parameters may then be adjusted based on the water indication and the power consumption.

The EGR passage includes, in a position close to a connection port to the intake passage, an expanding portion in which a passage cross-sectional area expands and which lowers a flow speed of EGR gas so as to reduce an uneven flow, in the connection port, of the EGR gas flowing into the intake passage.
