摘要: A new engine manifold and adaptor that replaces two preexisting manifolds and accommodates the mounting of auxiliary devices such as an alternator or generator to the manifold and engine cylinder head. The manifold consists of an arm and an end having manifold mounting holes. The adaptor consists of a base and a tiered portion having receiving holes and securing holes. The auxiliary device provides securing holes. The engine cylinder head provides engine cylinder head receiving holes. A fastener is inserted through the securing holes in the accessory and into the receiving holes in the adaptor for attaching the accessory to the adaptor. Likewise, a fastener is inserted through the securing holes in the adaptor, through the mounting holes in the manifold, and directly into the engine cylinder head receiving holes for securing the adaptor to the manifold and the engine cylinder head. In this manner, the adaptor is secured to the manifold and the engine cylinder head thereby attaching the auxiliary device to the engine cylinder head.

摘要: The present invention relates to an engine and a method for producing the engine. The engine is constructed as follows. The engine interlockingly operates a pump (39, 139) for feeding fuel under pressure, by power of a crank shaft (1). A pair of gears (32a) and (32b) are arranged to be attached to a gear attaching shaft (32). The paired gears (32a) and (32b) are attached to the gear attaching shaft (32). At least one gear (32a) of the paired gears (32a) and (32b) constitutes a gear train (14, 114) through which the power of the crank shaft (1) is transmitted to the pump (39, 139). The method for producing the engine is constructed as follows. The method uses a common part for each of the gear trains (14) and (114) so as to produce engines of an injection pump specification and a common rail specification and alternatively manufactures the gear trains (14) and (114) through the common part. It comprises attaching a pair of gears (32a) and (32b) to a gear attaching shaft (32) of the engine of every specification, making one gear (32a) of the paired gears (32a) and (32b) serve as a basic gear and the other gear (32b) serve as a second gear, employing the basic gear (32a) as the common part for each of the gear trains (14) and (114) and alternatively manufactures the gear trains (14) and (114) of the engines of the respective specifications through the basic gear (32a) of the common part.

摘要: A crankcase, and method of assembling a crankcase, of an internal combustion engine are disclosed. The crankcase includes a top including at least a first portion of a top surface of the crankcase, and a bottom including a bottom surface of the crankcase and a plurality of side surfaces of the crankcase. The side surfaces are substantially vertical and extend between the top and bottom surfaces. The crankcase further includes bearings within at least one of the top and bottom to support a crankshaft. The crankcase additionally includes a first interface at which at least one of the top, bottom and side surfaces is coupled to a cylinder. The bottom and top interface one another along a split line, the top is removable from the bottom, and the top is configured to be attached to at least one of an oil filter component, a starter, and an ignition module.

摘要: An internal combustion engine includes a crankshaft, a mainshaft, a clutch and a countershaft. The mainshaft is for a transmission and holds a transmission gear train. The clutch is disposed on the extension of the mainshaft. Furthermore, the countershaft for the transmission holds a gear train to mesh with the transmission gear train. Accordingly, power is transmitted in order from the crankshaft to the clutch, the mainshaft, and the countershaft. This arrangement ensures better knee-grip when the internal combustion engine is mounted on a vehicle and improves in-vehicle mountability by reducing the width and the axial length of the internal combustion engine. A mainshaft is disposed about immediately below the crankshaft. At least a part of the mainshaft is provided at the same axial position as the crankshaft.

摘要: The invention relates to an operating medium tank (1) for a drive unit (2), especially for an internal combustion engine (3) of a portable handheld work apparatus. The tank (1) has a fill opening (4) and a output opening (5) in the housing wall (6) of the tank. According to the invention, at least one base (7) having a lug (8) is formed as one piece from the housing wall (6) in order to configure the tank so as to be operationally safe and easy to assemble. The tank (1) can be fixed with the aid of the lug (8) so as to be form-tight and separable on a receptacle (9) of the drive unit (2).

摘要: A cylinder block assembly for an engine comprises a cylinder block having a sidewall provided with apron attachment points and an apron mountable on the sidewall. The apron is adapted to receive engine components and comprises a tray-like cover which is dimensioned to substantially conform with the side of the cylinder block, thereby avoiding the need to machine the cylinder block to receive engine components. A cylinder block may be customized by the provision of an apron having appropriate components attached to the cylinder block, so that a single cylinder block can be used for a number of different engines.

摘要: A carburetor is supported on a casing by the air-fuel mixture discharging port thereof and by the portion of the adjustment screws thereof. A first vibration isolating member is interposed between the casing and the air-fuel mixture discharging port, and a second vibration isolating member is interposed between the casing and the adjustment screws. These vibration preventing members prevent the direction transmission of the vibration of the casing to the carburetor side. A reasonable and compact carburetor support structure can be provided because the air-fuel mixture discharging port and the adjustment screws are intrinsically provided with the carburetor itself.
