摘要: A method minimizes power loss in a direct injection diesel engine by adding a copolymer to a diesel fuel composition. The copolymer contains, in a copolymerized form, (A) maleic anhydride, (B) an α-olefin having from 12 to 30 carbon atoms, (C) optionally an additional aliphatic or cycloaliphatic olefin which has at least 4 carbon atoms and is different from monomer (B), and (D) optionally an additional copolymerizable monomer other than monomers (A), (B) and (C). Monomer (D) can be a vinyl ester, a vinyl ether, a (meth)acrylic ester of an alcohol having at least 5 carbon atoms, an allyl alcohol or an ester thereof, a N-vinyl compound, an ethylenically unsaturated aromatic, an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated nitrile, a (meth)acrylamide, or an allylamine. Anhydride functionalities present in the copolymer are partly reacted with at least one compound (E) comprising an alcohol group and/or an amino group, and the anhydride functionalities present are hydrolyzed.

摘要: A viscosity index improver comprising a polymer which has a high viscosity index and good shear stability and which exhibits sufficient solubility in a lubricating base oil, a process for producing the same, and a lubricating oil composition containing the viscosity index improver are provided, wherein the viscosity index improver comprising a polymer satisfying the following (1) to (4): (1) weight-average molecular weight (Mw) of 200,000 or more and 600,000 or less; (2) number-average molecular weight (Mn) of 90,000 or more; (3) molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of 4.0 or less; and (4) branching degree of 1.0 or more.

摘要: A novel a polymer dispersant comprising an additive reaction product obtained by reacting a first monomer comprising a mixture of alkylacrylates of varying chain lengths with a second monomer comprising an olefinic carboxylic acylating agent under conditions effective for free radical polymerization of the first and second monomers to provide a base polymer comprising an acylated alkylacrylate copolymer, and wherein the base polymer is further reacted with a hydrocarbyl amine to provide an amine-functionalized polyalkylacrylate copolymer dispersant. The base polymer intermediate has a number average molecular weight between about 5,000 to about 50,000. The polyalkylacrylate copolymer dispersant has good dispersancy, low temperature properties, thickening efficiency, and antioxidancy properties. They also can improve fuel economy when used in engine lubricating compositions. They also are precipitation- or sedimentation-resistant, and do not cause or encourage such formations in finished fluids incorporating them.

摘要: A lubricating oil composition for use in oil-impregnated sintered bearings together with a resin member having C═C bonds or C═O groups in the molecules, which comprises a base oil comprising a synthetic hydrocarbon oil as the main component, and 0.1-30% by weight of an ester-based oil on the basis of total composition, and free from zinc dialkyldithiophosphate and molybdenum dialkyldithiocarbamate, where the synthetic hydrocarbon oil as the main component of the base oil has substantially no adverse effect on resin, can minimize an adverse effect on various metal species of sintered materials by suppressing a mixing amount of a wear inhibitor or an extreme pressure agent to a minimum, without deteriorating a good lubricability required for the lubricating oil in oil-impregnated sintered bearings.
