A method upgrading waste to produce fuel can include: introducing a hydrocarbon feed stream into a 450° C. to 1050° C. coking zone of a reactor containing a fluidized bed of coke particles maintained at coking temperatures to produce a vapor phase hydrocarbon product while coke is deposited on the coke particles; allowing the coke particles to pass downwards to a stripper section of the reactor; introducing a steam stream into the stripper section; transferring the coke particles from the stripper section to a gasifier/burner; contacting the coke particles in the gasifier/burner an oxygen-containing gas in an oxygen-limited atmosphere at 850° C. to 1200° C. to heat the coke particles and form a fuel gas product that comprises carbon monoxide and hydrogen; recycling the heated coke particles from the gasifier/burner to the coking zone of the reactor; and introducing at least one waste stream to the reactor and/or the gasifier/burner.

A method for treating drain in hydrogen production includes steps of gasifying in a gasifier (1), reforming in a reformer (2), gas-liquid separation in a gas-liquid separator (4), PSA gas separation in a PSA separator (5) and evaporation in a drain treatment unit (6). In the gasifying, a mixed material containing methanol is heated and gasified. In the reforming, reformed gas containing hydrogen is produced from the mixed material by reforming reaction of methanol. In the gas-liquid separation, a liquid component is separated from the reformed gas and discharged as drain. In the PSA gas separation, hydrogen-rich gas and offgas are extracted from the reformed gas by PSA separation using an adsorption tower. In the gasifying, the offgas is burned, and the mixed material is heated by using the combustion gas as heat source. In the evaporation, drain is evaporated using the combustion gas after heating the mixed material as heat source.

Systems and methods of reducing refinery carbon dioxide emissions by improving the overall synthesis gas yield in a fluid catalytic cracking unit having a reactor and a regenerator are discussed. In one example, a method comprises introducing spent catalyst and a feed gas comprising oxygen to the regenerator at gasification conditions. The method further comprises heating the spent catalyst to burn coke therefrom to produce a synthesis gas. The method further comprises combining the synthesis gas with a dry gas comprising hydrogen, creating the overall synthesis gas and thereby increasing the yield of the overall synthesis gas produced in the FCC unit.
