    摘要: A method for preparing blends of at least two polymer components is described herein. The disclosed method generally involves controlling relative molecular weights and ratios of the two or more polymer components by selecting a first initiator, a second initiator, and a monomer, and subjecting the reactants to conditions suitable to polymerize the monomer based at least in part on the first and second initiators in connection with obtaining the polymeric blend. The second initiator is advantageously selected based on one or more characteristics associated therewith, based on a characteristic of the first initiator. A polymeric blend produced according to such a method is also provided herein.

    摘要: Disclosed is a copolymer latex obtained by emulsion polymerization of a monomer mixture containing (a) 30-70% by mass of a conjugated diene monomer, (b) 0.1-15% by mass of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer and (c) 15-69.9% by mass of one or more other copolymerizable monomers. The copolymer latex is characterized in that the toluene in-soluble content in the dried product obtained by drying the copolymer latex is 95-100% by mass; the mass ratio of the toluene-swollen toluene insoluble content to the dried toluene insoluble content (the toluene swelling degree) is 3.0-6.5; the number average particle diameter of the copolymer latex is 180-400 nm; and the glass transition starting temperature of the dried copolymer latex is within the range from −70° C. to −20° C. and the glass transition ending temperature thereof is within the range from 10° C. to 100° C. in differential scanning calorimetry.

    摘要: The present invention relates to conjugates of biologically active compounds, preferably therapeutically active compounds, with polymeric moieties having low polydispersity, as well as controlled polymerisation processes for producing the conjugates. An initiation for a controlled radical polymerisation process comprises a biologically active, usually therapeutically active, moiety and the monomer includes zwitterionic monomer for instance 2-methacryloyloxyethyl-2′-trimethylammonium ethyl phosphate inner salt. The process allows close control of the molecular weight and polydispersity of the polymeric moiety and the possibility of optimizing the delivery characteristics of the active agent.

    摘要: Copolymers of zwitterionic monomer, especially 2-methacryloyloxyethyl-2′-trimethylammoniumethyl phosphate inner salt, and hydrophobic comonomer, especially dodecylmethacrylate, are made in a monomer starved polymerization process in which solutions of monomers are fed to the reaction vessel in which initiator is present over an extended period. The copolymers have improved compositional uniformity and provide better coatings on a range of substrates. The novel copolymers can be distinguished from prior art batch type bulk solution polymerization polymers of the same monomer composition by solubility characteristics especially in alcohol/water mixtures. Particularly preferred coating compositions comprise an alcohol:water mixture containing around 20 to 40% by volume alcohol.
