摘要: This disclosure describes a reinforced thermosetting resin piping system that is protected from external impact and UV damage by an outer polyurea-based layer. The embodiments described herein can be favorably used for underground and aboveground applications. In some implementations, an RTR pipe includes a core layer that includes a resin and fibers, an outer layer that includes a polyurea-based layer, and an interface layer between the core layer and the outer layer. The methods described herein also outline the process of producing the pipe structure.

摘要: A reinforcing material is disclosed that includes coated glass flakes and coated glass strands. When the total amount of a glycidyl group-including resin and aminosilane contained in the coatings of the coated glass flakes corresponds to 100% by mass, the amount of the resin is 30% to 95% by mass. When the total amount of a glycidyl group-including resin, aminosilane, and a urethane resin contained in the coatings of the coated glass strands corresponds to 100% by mass, the amount of the glycidyl group-including resin is 10% to 90% by mass, the amount of the aminosilane is 0.1% to 40% by mass, and the amount of the urethane resin is 1% to 50% by mass. Both the coated glass flakes and the coated glass strands have an ignition loss of 0.1% to 2.0% by mass measured pursuant to JIS R3420 (2013).

摘要: A glass filler of the present invention includes: a glass substrate; and a coating film including a surface treatment agent, the coating film covering at least a portion of a surface of the glass substrate. The glass substrate is a glass fiber having a flat cross-sectional shape. For the glass substrate, when a length corresponding to a minor axis of the flat cross-section of the glass fiber is represented by L1, a length corresponding to a major axis of the flat cross-section of the glass fiber is represented by L2, and a length corresponding to a fiber length of the glass fiber is represented by L3, a ratio of an average of L2 to an average of L1, (average of L2)/(average of L1), is 1.5 or more and 8 or less, the average of L1 is 1.0 μm or more and 10 μm or less, an average of L3 is 3 μm or more and less than 80 μm, and an average of L3 is larger than the average of L2. The surface treatment agent includes a silane coupling agent. A proportion of the coating film in the glass filler is 0.05 mass % or more and 2.5 mass % or less.

摘要: A sizing composition for glass fiber direct roving for producing multiaxial fabrics is provided. The sizing composition includes, based on the total solids mass of the composition, 0.1 to 5.0% by solid mass of a first silane coupling agent, 2.5 to 11.0% by solid mass of a second silane coupling agent, 3.0 to 20.0% by solid mass of a first film former, 45.0 to 75.0% by solid mass of a second film former, 0 to 5.0% by solid mass of a plasticizer, 0.2 to 4.0% by solid mass of a first lubricant, 5.0 to 20.0% by solid mass of a second lubricant, and 0.01 to 3.0% by solid mass of a pH regulator. The first film former is a multifunctional epoxy emulsion, and the second film former is a low-molecular-weight liquid epoxy emulsion.

摘要: Provided is a method for producing a glass direct roving that has excellent workability and can effectively increase the mechanical strength of a composite material obtained by combination with resin. A method for producing a glass direct roving 10 formed by directly winding up a bundle of glass filaments includes the steps of: applying a sizing agent containing an epoxy resin having an epoxy equivalent of 180 to 240 to surfaces of a plurality of glass filaments to bundle the plurality of glass filaments; winding up a bundle obtained by bundling the plurality of glass filaments, thus making a wound package; and thermally drying the sizing agent at a temperature of 135° C. to 155° C. to form a coating on the surfaces of the glass filaments.

The object is attained with surface-modified glass fibers for reinforcing concrete which are at least partially covered at least with a hydrolysis-stable and alkali-resistant cationic polyelectrolyte and/or hydrolysis-stable and alkali-resistant cationic polyelectrolyte mixture and/or with a hydrolysis-stable and alkali-resistant polyelectrolyte complex and coupled to the glass fiber surface via a (polyelectrolyte) complex formation process by means of ionic bonding, with the hydrolysis-stable and alkali-resistant polyelectrolyte complex A thereby being formed, wherein at least one additional (co)polymer at least partially covers the polyelectrolyte complex A and is coupled with the polyelectrolyte A via ionic and/or covalent bonds.

摘要: Fibers for fiber-reinforced resin of the present invention are fibers for fiber-reinforced resin to which a sizing agent is adhered. The fibers are at least one selected from carbon fibers and glass fibers, and an ester bond (—COO—) generated by denaturation of the sizing agent is present on surfaces of the fibers. A method for producing the same according to the present invention includes: subjecting fibers to which a sizing agent is adhered to at least one treatment selected from the group consisting of ozone oxidation, ultraviolet irradiation at a wavelength of 400 nm or less, and a plasma treatment. The fibers are at least one selected from carbon fibers and glass fibers. Thus, it is possible to provide carbon fibers having enhanced wettability to a matrix resin and thereby allowing the matrix resin to be impregnated between the fibers easily.
