Abstract: A container for foodstuffs includes a containment body having a polygonal bottom wall and perimeter side walls connected to each other and to the polygonal bottom wall so as to define a food containment volume open at the top at an upper opening. At least two side flaps and one upper flap extend from each perimeter side wall. Each side flap is connected to the respective side wall through a respective side folding line and abuts against and is bonded to a respective adjacent side flap, defining a supporting element outside the containment volume. Each upper flap is connected to the respective side wall through a respective first upper folding line along which it is folded away from the containment volume so as to define an edge portion of the container suitable to receive a closure element.

Abstract: Disclosed is a packaging sheet for packaging of cheese, in particular white moulded soft cheese. The packaging sheet comprises: an inner surface and an outer surface of the packaging sheet, said inner surface being configured for facing the cheese in a packaged use position of the packaging sheet; a paper layer with a first surface and a second surface; a coloured layer provided on a first surface of the paper layer, an outer surface of the coloured layer establishing said outer surface of the packaging sheet; and a polymer layer with a water vapour transmission rate of at least 300 g/m2/24 hours at 38° C. and 90% atmospheric humidity. The polymer layer being coated on the second surface of the paper layer with a first surface of the polymer layer facing the paper layer and a second surface of the polymer layer establishing said inner surface of the packaging sheet.

Abstract: A tray that eliminates the need for wrapping or packaging edible food articles that are in a malleable form, such as when made or otherwise produced, with the tray formed with at least a plurality of pairs of article holding compartments each three dimensionally contoured so as to define an edible food article mold that shapes or forms an edible food article received therein that is in a formable or moldable state so as to substantially conform at least a portion of the edible food article to the shape of the three-dimensional contour of the mold of the compartment in which the article is received. A preferred embodiment of the tray has at least a plurality of pairs of elongate article holding compartments that are generally parallel with one another with the article shaping or forming mold defined by each compartment formed of a compartment sidewall that has a concavely curved cross-section that preferably is generally semicircular in a transverse cross-section. In a preferred embodiment, each compartment has a mouth through which an edible food article enters during the filling of the tray with the mouth preferably defined by opposed portions of the generally semicircular compartment sidewall that are generally parallel to one another and which preferably can be obtuse the angled relative to one another to define a guide chute that guides the article into a desired position and/or orientation in the mold of the compartment that optimizes forming or shaping of the article before it cools, dries, cures or otherwise hardens thereby setting or fixing its shape memory so as to substantially conform at least a part of the shape of the article disposed in contact with the sidewall with the mold of the compartment in which the article is received.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to packages having a thermoformed product receiving cavity for containing the product formed from a first flexible heat shrinkable film and a lidding film covering the thermoformed product receiving cavity formed from a second flexible non-heat shrinkable film. The present invention also includes an opening tab on each of the two flexible films which are aligned with each other such that each of the tabs has a sufficient surface area facing the other tab but not adhered to it to render each tab readily manually graspable. The opening tab of the first flexible heat shrinkable film includes a distal portion which is curled to improve its graspability.

Abstract: The flanged container for a dairy product or similar food composition is provided with a hollow body and a generally planar annular flange connected to the top of the body, the flange having outer straight side edges and an inner edge defining a circular upper opening of the container. The body has a planar bottom and a lower portion tapering from a generally cylindrical upper portion toward the bottom in a curved manner. The lower portion has a height h1 in some embodiments not less than 14 mm and the ratio h1/H is less than 2:5 where H is the height of the container. The side wall of the body has a thickness profile such that the average thickness of the lower portion is more than the average thickness of the upper portion. Several identical containers can be grouped in a pack with breakable junctions at the outer straight side edges.
