    摘要: An air delivery system is operable to on-board compressed air to an associated work vehicle from an associated or auxiliary source such as for example an external large compressor or air storage tank for assisting a tire inflation system (TIS) of the associated work vehicle to expedite tire inflation particularly when transitioning to a desired raised tire pressure, and is further operable to off-board compressed air from a compressor of the TIS system on-board the associated work vehicle for delivery from the TIS to an associated or external compressed air consuming device such as an implement attached with the associated work vehicle or the like. A bi-directional air delivery retrofit kit 700 provides on-boarding and off-boarding of an extra-vehicular compressed air product relative to an associated work vehicle. A dual source air delivery system provides pressurized air to an air storage device from on-board and off-board pressurized air sources.

    摘要: An air induction system for filtering a compressible fluid to an electromechanical component mounted on a wheel of a vehicle. The system may make use of a first plurality of float valves arranged in series in a non-linear first flowpath path, with at least one of the float valves forming an inlet for intaking the compressible fluid into the first flowpath, and one being in communication with an inlet of the electromechanical component. Each of the float valves may have a buoyant float valve element therein which is responsive to change position when submerged in water, to close off its respective float valve depending on an angular orientation of the wheel, and thus an angular orientation of the float valve.

    摘要: A method is provided for improving both landing gear wheel drive assembly performance and energy efficiency performance in an aircraft equipped with one or more landing gear wheel drive assemblies to move the aircraft autonomously on the ground without reliance on the aircraft's engines. Aircraft moved on the ground by thrust from aircraft engines may also show improved energy efficiency. The present method employs a discovered relationship between aircraft tyre pressure and landing gear wheel drive assembly performance and maintains aircraft tyre inflation pressure at an optimum high pressure that enhances both landing gear wheel drive assembly performance and aircraft energy efficiency while the aircraft are driven on the ground by the landing gear wheel drive assemblies. Operation of the landing gear wheel drive assembly may be automatically prevented by a failsafe mechanism when optimum high tyre inflation pressure levels are not maintained during aircraft ground travel.

    摘要: A rotary feedthrough for a motor vehicle wheel having tire pressure regulation comprises a wheel carrier and a wheel hub rotatably supported on the wheel carrier. A compressed air annular space and at least one annular lubricant space, which are sealed with respect to one another, are configured in an intermediate space between the wheel carrier and the wheel hub. In this respect, the compressed air annular space communicates with a compressed air passage of the wheel carrier and with a compressed air passage of the wheel hub, wherein the compressed air passage of the wheel hub communicates with a controllable valve in order selectively to fill a tire of the motor vehicle wheel with compressed air or to deflate the tire. The annular lubricant space in turn communicates with a lubricant passage of the wheel carrier and with a lubricant passage of the wheel hub, wherein the lubricant passage of the wheel hub leads to a control port of the valve in order selectively to control the valve for the passage of compressed air.

    摘要: A tire pressure control system includes a tire mounted on a wheel that is connected to an axle, with pneumatic fittings communicating with an interior of this tire. A digital pressure switch has a pair of pneumatic lines that extend from it. These pneumatic lines connect to the pneumatic fittings so that the digital pressure switch communicates with the tire. An electronic solenoid valve communicates with the digital pressure switch by electrical connection to communicate with the interior of the tire. The electronic solenoid valve operates in a corresponding relationship to the interior of the tire so gas above a set pressure can pass to atmosphere. A battery assembly powers and activates the digital pressure switch, and further powers the electronic solenoid valve through the digital pressure switch. A housing houses the digital pressure switch, the electronic solenoid valve, and the battery assembly.

    摘要: The manual valve normally attached to the wet tank of an air pressure system in a motor vehicle which accumulates moisture is replaced by an automatic valve which has an inlet port connected to the drain line from the wet tank and an outlet port vented to the atmosphere. This valve is operable between an open position where the inlet and outlet ports are interconnected and a closed position where these two ports are isolated from each other. An air line which is used to activate the valve is interconnected to the parking brake of the motor vehicle and is operable to move the valving means to the closed position during normal operation of the vehicle and to the open position whenever the parking brake is engaged to thereby automatically drain moisture from the wet tank while the vehicle is parked.

    摘要: A vehicle wheel assembly carrying a pneumatic tire includes a hub rotatably mounted on a fixed axle component and provided with an internal air flow passageway. One end of the passageway communicates with the interior of the tire through a pneumatically actuated check valve, and the other end of the passageway is adapted to be connected to an air pressure control system carried by the vehicle. The latter connection is through a sealing arrangement between the rotating hub and fixed axle component and which includes a displaceable seal on the fixed axle component normally maintained out of contact with the rotatable hub. The displaceable seal is adapted to be moved into engagement with the hub by air under pressure from the air pressure control system after which the vehicle tire can be inflated, deflated or checked for pressure through the operation of appropriate controls in the air pressure control system.
