    Abstract: A molded boat with a seat drain. The boat includes a molded hull having been molded using a first material to cause the boat to have a front portion and a rear portion. The boat is molded with a bench, having been molded together with the hull using the first material. The bench includes a drain hole formed through, an otherwise solid face of the bench allowing water to flow from the front portion of the boat to the rear portion of the boat, wherein the drain hole formed through the bench is formed by using a tube molded into, and under the bench, the tube comprising a material having a higher melting point than the first material.

    Abstract: In an exemplary embodiment, a system for forming a flexible mat having an open mesh embedded in and interconnecting a plurality of blocks of a hardened paste includes a rotating drum having a plurality of mold cavities about an outer periphery thereof that receive a hardenable paste; a sheet of the open mesh that is fed over the mold cavities so that the mesh is embedded in the hardenable paste deposited in the mold cavities; and a flexible sheet that is placed against the outer periphery of the drum over the mold cavities containing the hardenable paste and the sheet of open mesh of the rotating drum to retain the hardenable paste within the mold cavities and retain the open mesh embedded in the hardenable paste as the hardenable paste solidifies to form the flexible mat.

    Abstract: A method for manufacturing a structure material is a method for manufacturing a structure material that includes a thermoplastic resin, reinforced fibers, and voids. The method includes: a first process for arranging a structure precursor comprising the thermoplastic resin and the reinforced fibers in a mold with a surface temperature of 80° C. or less; a second process for raising the surface temperature of the mold up to a temperature at which a storage elastic modulus (G′) of the structure precursor is less than 1.2×108 Pa; a third process for lowering the surface temperature of the mold down to a temperature at which the storage elastic modulus (G′) of the structure precursor is 1.2×108 Pa or more; and a fourth process for removing a structure material obtained after end of the third process from the mold.
