    Abstract: A system includes a loader tool to load a plate to which a sandpaper sheet is to be affixed to a surface of the plate. The system includes a sandpaper affixing tool to remove a liner from the sandpaper sheet to expose an adhesive surface of the sandpaper sheet, and to affix the sandpaper sheet to the surface of the plate using the adhesive surface of the sandpaper sheet. The system includes a flatness detector to determine whether a surface of the sandpaper sheet is sufficiently flat after the sandpaper sheet is affixed to the surface of the plate. The system includes an unloader tool to store the plate after the sandpaper sheet is affixed to the surface of the plate.

    Abstract: A workpiece grinding method includes a rotary-shaft direction grinding step of grinding a back surface of a workpiece by relatively moving a grinding wheel and a chuck table holding a front surface of the workpiece toward each other along an axis of a rotary shaft of the chuck table, the grinding wheel including a plurality of grinding stones that have outer peripheral surfaces defining a circle of a diameter not greater than a radius of the workpiece, and a radially directed grinding step of grinding the back surface of the workpiece by relatively moving the grinding wheel and the chuck table in a radial direction of the chuck table. The radially directed grinding step includes one of or both an inwardly directed grinding step of relatively moving the grinding wheel and the chuck table, and an outwardly directed grinding step of relatively moving the grinding wheel and the chuck table.

    Abstract: A polishing apparatus includes a rotatable head body having a pressing surface, a retainer ring configured to press a polishing surface while rotating together with the head body, a stationary ring, local load applying devices configured to apply a local load to the stationary ring, and a controller. The local load applying devices include a first pressing member and a second pressing member connected to the stationary ring. The first pressing member is disposed in the upstream side of the retainer ring in the traveling direction of the polishing surface, and the second pressing member is disposed in the downstream side. The controller calculates the inclination angle of the stationary ring based on a measured value of the height of at least one of the first pressing member and the second pressing member.

The housing assembly includes a body housing. The housing assembly further includes a functional housing, where a hollow cavity is formed in the functional housing, the functional housing is provided with an inlet and an outlet that communicate with the hollow cavity, the inlet communicates with a dust removal channel of the sanding tool, the outlet is configured to discharge gas in the cavity, and the fan assembly is used for forming a dust removal air path moving towards the inlet. A ratio of an area of a projection of the functional housing on the baseplate to an area of the baseplate is greater than or equal to 0.15 and less than or equal to 0.95.

    Abstract: A walk-behind, wet/dry grinder/polisher adapted for concrete floors does not use of pulleys, belts or chains. Maintenance is significantly enhanced, as such components are typically the first to wear out and cause replacement issues. A frame with forward and rear portions pivots about a single set of right and left wheels. A planetary grinding head, powered by a propane engine, is coupled to the forward portion of the frame. In contrast to all known designs, the engine is directly, mechanically coupled to the grinding head without the use of pulleys, belts or chains. The direct, mechanical coupling to the grinding head preferably uses a centrifugal clutch. A water tank and water feed line from the water tank to the grinding head facilitate wet floor grinding and polishing. The grinding head is also encased in a shroud coupled to a tube for dust collection associated with dry floor grinding and polishing.

    Abstract: A concrete grinder has a rotating planetary gearbox with counter rotating tooling plates attached. The planetary gearbox is powered directly from a trowel gearbox output shaft, which is connected to a center bore of the planetary gearbox. As the planetary gearbox rotates, tooling shafts are forced to counter rotate because the input shaft of the planetary gearbox is connected to a fixed pulley or sprocket. The planetary gearbox is sealed to keep water, dust or slurry from entering.
