Abstract:
A manufacturing device having a clamp unit according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention may include a workpiece disposed on a frame, a clamp unit configured to fix the workpiece on the frame, and a spindle configured to a torque transferred from a motor to cut the workpiece or operates the clamp unit to make the clamp unit fix the workpiece on the frame.
Abstract:
A holding jig (1, 2, 3) for a thin cylindrical work (W) includes a holding member (10, 10A, 10B) which holds the work (W) from an inner peripheral side and a diameter changing unit (25, 27) which changes a diameter of the holding member (10, 10A, 10B). The holding member (10, 10A, 10B) is made of metal and has a cylindrical shape and an elastically expandable or contractible diameter. The holding member (10, 10A, 10B) is configured with an outside diameter of the holding member (10, 10A, 10B) being held smaller than an inside diameter of the work (W) at the time of insertion into an inner periphery of the work (W) and being expanded after inserted into the inner periphery of the work (W) to hold the work (W) from an inner peripheral side of the work (W) with an outer peripheral surface in close contact with an entire inner peripheral surface of the work (W). The diameter changing unit (25, 27) applies at least one of an axial external force in a compressing direction or an axial external force in a tensile direction to both ends of the holding member (10. 10A, 10B) to change the diameter of the holding member (10, 10A, 10B).
Abstract:
A power tool includes a clamp shaft for clamping a tool accessory to the power tool and a clamp shaft holding mechanism for selectively locking the clamp shaft to hold the clamp shaft in a position that secures the tool accessory on the power tool. The power tool also includes a lever for shifting the clamp shaft holding mechanism between clamped and unclamped states. The lever is configured such that when an operator grasps the lever and moves it toward a position for releasing the tool accessory, the lever and the operator's hand move away from the tool accessory.
Abstract:
There is proposed a clamping mandrel for a rotationally symmetrical hollow body in the form of a beverage can integrally comprising a body portion and a bottom. Accurate coupling and precise control of the movement of the mandrel is to be transmitted to the hollow body. For that purpose there are provided a plurality of clamping segments forming an outwardly facing cylindrical clamping surface for engaging an inside surface of the hollow body. The clamping segments are radially movably guided. A force-transmission device arranged in the interior of the clamping mandrel is provided for synchronous control of the radial movement of the clamping segments. That provides for controlled precision movement of a hollow body clamped by the clamping device.
Abstract:
A glass support pin for supporting a glass substrate for use with a liquid crystal display device is provided. In one embodiment, the glass support pin includes a plurality of branch pins, and one or more elastic members. The plurality of branch pins is structured to have top ends. The top ends of the branch pins are spread outwardly in the radial direction. The one or more elastic members are attached to the branch pins. The glass support pin is open by pulling the top ends of the branch pins outwardly according to a longitudinal movement of the glass support pin.
Abstract:
A tool attaching/detaching device is disclosed in which a tool depressing member is slidingly engaged with a body portion of a clamp nut, and balls are inserted into spaces defined between taper surface portions of the clamp nut and taper surface portions of the tool depressing member. A ring member is used to cover the spaces. An inner diameer of the ring member is changed along its inner circumferential surface.
Abstract:
An internal clamp mechanism for use in welding two pipes together in end to end prolongation has a pair of axially spaced, parallel, radially expansible and contractile clamp members coupled to one another in such manner as to enable one of the clamp members to be shifted bodily transversely of the other. Shifting of the one clamp member is effected by a plurality of fluid pressure rams operable independently of one another. The ability of the one clamp member to be shifted transversely of the other enables the pipe accommodating the shiftable clamp member to be axially aligned with the other pipe and to distribute any difference in wall thickness between the two pipes over the entire circumference thereof.
Abstract:
A first set of selectively movable platens are disposed at a fixed station to receive a container therein to provide shoring of the external surfaces of the container. A second set of selectively movable platens are disposed to provide shoring of the internal surfaces of the container. Expandible and retractable slat members connect the upper corner portions of the second set of platens so that when these platens expand, the slat members provide internal shoring at the inside corners of the container.
Abstract:
A male arbor having axially spaced annular sections of different diameters and adapted to retain a female workpiece having a multi-diameter internal bore. Each of the annular sections includes a hub member, with the hub members coupled to each other. Annular members are carried by each of the hub members, with one of the annular members of each pair slidably mounted. Opposing tapered wedging surfaces define grooves for receiving balls which normally project radially from the grooves to grip the workpiece and which are retracted into the grooves upon axial separation of the annular members so that the workpiece can be removed from the arbor. Each annular section includes one of the annular members provided with a plurality of circumferentially spaced and longitudinally disposed bores extending therethrough and including a decreased diameter portion in axial alignment with a plurality of circumferentially spaced and longitudinally disposed threaded bores in the adjacent annular member. A plurality of threaded fastening members slidably extend through the bores in one annular member to be received by the bores of the adjacent annular member. The shank portion of each fastening member is of such a length as to permit axial movement of each movable annular member relative to the adjacent annular member. A plurality of springs carried by each of the shank portions of each fastening member exert a biasing force against its associated movable annular member to bias the same toward its adjacent annular member. The biasing force of the springs and thus the force projecting the balls radially from their associated grooves may be selectively varied.
Abstract:
A self-aligning spacer assembly includes a pair of sleeves having end faces held in mutually abutting relationship by a resilient collar. One of the abutting end faces has a convex spherical shape and the other is conical to provide substantial line contact between the faces. One of the sleeves has an internal diameter such that it fits snugly on a shaft or arbor on which the spacer assembly is mounted, an the internal diameter of the other sleeve is slightly greater so that it can rock on the arbor to a limited extent relative to the other sleeve.
