Abstract: An expandable multiple-axle trailer has a trailer wheel carriage with left and right sub-carriages having corresponding forward-extending sub-carriage extensions, the front ends of which define sub-carriage extension tongues laterally movable within slots in a first transverse trailer structure member while being constrained against longitudinal and vertical movement relative to the trailer, while intermediate regions of the sub-carriage extensions are correspondingly laterally movable within fulcrum slots in a second transverse trailer structure member aft of the first transverse member. The trailer wheel carriage incorporates actuation means for transitioning the trailer wheel carriage assembly between laterally-retracted and laterally-expanded configurations. The slots in the first and second transverse members define guide surfaces angularly oriented such that transitioning to the expanded configuration will alter the longitudinal pitch of the trailer wheel carriage to raise the rearmost axle relative to the forwardmost axle, and vice versa when transitioning to the retracted configuration.

Abstract: A trailer having a deck and a flip-over ramp. The deck and one side of the flip-over ramp are convertible from a flat position to a position with cradles that are configured to hold one or more round hay bales. The deck may tilt, and side rails may cooperate to form the cradle region. The flip over ramp may also pivot about a horizontal axis to form a pathway from a ground surface to the deck. Side rails may pivot both about a horizontal axis, and about a vertical axis near the flip-over ramp to allow clearance when the ramp is deployed.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for engaging, lifting, and moving objects such as wheeled cargo trailers are provided. In one embodiment, a mobile apparatus includes a transport mechanism, a frame, and one or more lift assemblies. The lift assemblies may be adjusted using one or more attached actuators that position the lift assemblies and/or components thereof for engaging and lifting an object. The transport mechanism may be autonomously operated. A vision system may be used to locate and identify objects and/or guide the mobile apparatus into position to engage and lift the objects. An adapter for a pneumatic braking system of a wheeled cargo trailer is also provided. The adapter provides a pneumatic attachment for a pressurized air source that is separate from a glad hands connector attached to the braking system.

Abstract: A winch assembly for moving a first fifth wheel outwardly from a first trailer and engaging a king pin on a second trailer. The winch assembly includes a pair of parallel, spaced apart rails mounted on the underside of the first trailer. A slide out frame is mounted between the rails and attached to a front axle and a real axle, with wheels. The slide out frame includes the first fifth wheel adapted for engaging the king pin on the front of a second trailer. The first fifth wheel is attached to a pair of first cables on winch drums, driven by winch motors. The winch motors are used for rotating cable drums for retracting the first fifth wheel along a length of the trailer. Also, a pair of second cables on winch drums, driven by winch motors, are attached to the slide out frame. The second cables are used to extend the first fifth wheel outwardly from the rear of the first trailer for engaging the fifth wheel to the second trailer.
