摘要: Encoding and decoding methods are provided. An information object is encoded according to a preset encoding scheme. A preset set of bits is selected from the encoded information object and the selected set of bits is output as a sample. A control packet including information on a sample number is generated. The sample is assembled with the control packet. The sample is modulated into a sound signal according to a preset scheme. An input sound signal is demodulated according to the preset scheme. Sample bits and control packet bits containing information of the sample are separated from each other in demodulated received bits. Address information corresponding to each bit of the sample is generated according to the control packet. A soft decision of the sample bits is summed for each piece of the generated address information. A sample decoding of the summed soft decision of the sample bits is performed.

摘要: A multi-stage scheduler that provides improved bandwidth utilization in the presence of processor intensive traffic is disclosed. Incoming traffic is separated into multiple traffic flows. Data blocks of the traffic flows are scheduled for access to a processor resource using a first scheduling algorithm, and processed by the processor resource as scheduled by the first scheduling algorithm. The processed data blocks of the traffic flows are scheduled for access to a bandwidth resource using a second scheduling algorithm, and provided to the bandwidth resource as scheduled by the second scheduling algorithm. The multi-stage scheduler in an illustrative embodiment may be implemented in a network processor integrated circuit or other processing device of a communication system.

摘要: An apparatus and method for transmitting Walsh information over a packet data control channel in a base station of a mobile communication system that transmits packet data and has the packet data control channel for transmitting control information related to transmission of packet data. Receivers decode reverse ACK channel (R-ACKCH) signals received from corresponding mobile stations, and count the number of NAKs from the decoded information. A Walsh mask broadcasting controller receives the number of NAKs from the receivers, and outputs a Walsh mask information broadcasting enable signal if the number of NAKs is larger than a predetermined threshold. A transmitter generates and broadcasts Walsh mask information of the base station upon receiving the Walsh mask information broadcasting enable signal.

摘要: The present invention relates to a connection device, an exchange unit comprising such devices as well as methods of connecting signals within an exchange unit. The exchange unit comprises a connection device (61) having a message writing device (66), which adds, for each traffic channel received in a time slot in consecutive frames that are transmitted on a telecommunication line (PCM2), an address to a payload comprising at least a part of one signal received in said channel in order to form a message. The address points out a message reading device (68) and the message writing device sends the message to this message reading device for sending in some time slot in consecutive frames transmitted on a second, outbound telecommunication line (PCM3). The exchange unit also comprises a routing device (60) for each connection device, which together form a node in a hierarchiacal transport net-work comprising ring shaped highspeed links. A message writing device then sends messages to a message reading device via a routing device and possibly via other routing devices and bridges in the transport network.

摘要: A method for distincting between at least two types of time slots in serial digital bit streams that are transmitted over a link between a transmitter and a receiver and that derive from the streams of parallel data bits which are delivered to the transmitter via an interface and subjected to parallel-series conversion in the transmitter. Subsequent to analyzing the parallel data bits in a time slot, the type of category to which this time slot belongs is decided and a plurality of marker bits are then inserted into the serial time slots, so as to obtain good transmission properties and also be restore the time slots to a parallel form. More specifically, the time slot categories are mutually separated with the aid of a different number of marker bits in the time slot, all of these marker bits having been assigned the inverted value of a bit other than the marker bits.

摘要: In a variable configuration multiplex transmission method, correct sending of data to their respective addressees (terminals 22, 24, 26 and/or 28) supposes that reception station (34) can determine which is the channel configuration from amongst configurations (A, B, C and/or D) that is active. This invention is adapted to proceed to such a channel determination by multiplexing a predetermined particular character from the active channels, directly transmitting over transmission channel (32) the multiplexed predetermined character burst, receiving (34) the multiplexed character burst, and using the received character burst in order to read a pre-registered table which directly gives out that channel configuration which has active channels.

摘要: In a time-division multiplexing system, data are supplied to the multiplexer with different speeds. Depending on the speed, time slot groups are allocated to the data, with the number of allocated time slots increasing with the speed. The search for groups of free time slots occurs in a fixed sequence. Data to which time slot groups at the end of the fixed sequence have been allocated, are relocated to time slot groups which have become free nearer the beginning of the sequence. The allocated time slot group for the forward transmission direction is signalled to the multiplexer of the remote station which in turn occasions a corresponding allocation of time slots for the reverse transmission direction for data originating at the remote station.
