Abstract: An apparatus and method are disclosed to receive location data identifying the current location of a vehicle, for example an automobile or aircraft. A database, storing radio device records, is then queried. Each radio device record in the database identifies a radio device and its location. Radio device records associated with radio devices likely to be within communication range of the vehicle may then be retrieved from the database. The radio device records may be used to generate information for individual ones of radio devices which are likely to be within range of the vehicle and display that radio device information to a vehicle operator via an electronic display. The display may be updated as the vehicle travels to display radio device information as the radio devices come into range of the vehicle and remove radio device information from the display as the vehicle travels out of range.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to a control device for coupling an antenna assembly of a motor vehicle to at least one vehicle component of the motor vehicle for an exchange of messages with vehicle-external objects. The control device comprises a first radio module for providing a first radio link to at least one of the objects on the basis of a first radio standard, a second radio module for providing a second radio link to at least one other of the objects on the basis of a second radio standard, and a processor device for receiving some of the messages via the first radio link and some other of the messages via the second radio link. The processor device includes a synchronization unit configured to forward the received messages in a sequence determined by the time data to the at least one vehicle component.

A communication device in the motor vehicle generates transmission data associated with the antenna circuits in accordance with transmission information and transfers the transmission data to the associated antenna circuit and receives the digital received data from at least one of the antenna circuits to provide reception information based on the digital received data.

Abstract: A vehicle entertainment system includes a cradle disposed in a headrest of a vehicle and having a slot, and a vehicle entertainment unit including a display and a locking mechanism. Upon placing the vehicle entertainment unit in the cradle, the locking mechanism is inserted into the slot to fixedly lock the vehicle entertainment unit in the cradle. Upon fixedly locking the vehicle entertainment unit in the cradle, a space aligned with the locking mechanism is disposed between a first side of the cradle and a first side of the vehicle entertainment unit. The space is shaped and dimensioned to receive a removal tool that contacts the locking mechanism through the space to disengage the locking mechanism from the slot.
