Abstract: An electronic device may include a first housing, a second housing configured to accommodate at least a part of the first housing and guide sliding movement of the first housing, a flexible display including a first display area coupled to the first housing and a second display area extending from the first display area, a gear disposed inside the second housing and configured to move the flexible display, a motor configured to rotate the gear, at least one sensor, and at least one processor. The at least one processor may be configured to identify a state of the electronic device including at least one of a battery current, a battery voltage, an internal consumption current, a battery level, or an electronic device temperature, based on information sensed through the at least one sensor, and control a speed of the motor or discontinue driving of the motor based on the state of the electronic device.

Abstract: A power tool that includes a brushless motor, a power switching circuit, a current sensor, and an electronic controller. The power switching circuit provides a supply of power to the brushless motor. The current sensor is configured to sense a current of the brushless motor. The electronic controller is configured to receive a first signal indicative of current of the brushless motor, generate a current command, set a conduction angle of the brushless motor based on the current command, supply a PWM signal having a duty cycle to the brushless motor to increase current of the brushless motor, determine whether duty cycle equals a first threshold, maintain the duty cycle at the first threshold, modify the conduction angle to increase the current of the brushless DC motor, determine whether current equals a second threshold, and control the second conduction angle to maintain current at the second threshold.

Abstract: In an aspect, data characterizing an instruction for an activation of an igniter and an operating mode of a smoke generator that includes the igniter can be received. A first amount of energy required for an ignition of a fuel source by the igniter can be determined based on the operating mode characterized by the received data. The igniter can be caused to activate based on the received data. A second amount of energy, output by the igniter over a period of time during which the igniter is activated, can be determined. A determination of whether the second amount of energy exceeds the first amount of energy can be made. The igniter can be caused to deactivate in response to a determination that the second amount of energy exceeds the first amount of energy. Related systems, apparatus, techniques, and articles are also described.

Abstract: When providing alternating current (AC) power to operate AC powered devices such as power tools (such as drills, table saws, miter saws), equipment (such as lawn mowers), and consumer products (such as refrigerators, television, lights) without being tied to a fixed utility power supply typically requires a generator (such as an internal combustion engine based generator) or a battery powered inverter. In order to meet power and runtime needs for these devices, a battery powered inverter must be relatively large and expensive. This simple fact prohibits their use in many environments.

The method includes: receiving measures of current supplied to a motor of the power tool during operation of the power tool; determining rate of change of the current during operation of the power tool; determining occurrence of the power tool engaging the fastener based on the magnitude of the current supplied to the motor; determining occurrence of the power tool swaging the fastener based on the rate of change of the current; determining completion of the power tool swaging the fastener based on the magnitude of the current and the rate of change of the current; and verifying quality of the installation of the fastener using the determination of the occurrence of the power tool engaging the fastener and the determination of the completion of the power tool swaging the fastener.
